"Characteristics country hotel"
Has a deliberate rustic feel. Nice views down hillside. Nice pool area. Small TVs and no WiFi in room. Gave us a twin when booked a double but did move us to a double as one free. Friendly staff.

"City Break in the land of Zeus"
Enjoyed a relaxing break in a comfortable hotel that's only a short walk to the centre of Iraklio, with access to the Venetian Fort, National Archaeology Museum, the Morozini Fountain area (for food & drink), and beautiful churches such as the Church of St Vitus. Booked by the hotel concierge, we joined a couple of very good value guided tours to Chania & Rethymno, which we'd highly recommend, and to the Lasithi plateau (if interested in monasteries and/or wish to visit the mythical birthplace of Zeus at the Dikti cave). We'd also highly recommend a visit to the Knossos Palace, which is only a short & inexpensive bus ride from Iraklio (line 2). Galaxy Hotel has a relaxed atmosphere, offering good facilities, a good range of options for breakfast, and with excellent and very helpful staff. Overall, a very enjoyable visit for those who enjoy city breaks & history, as an alternative to a beach resort.

"Great hotel, close to the bus station"
The staff were lovely, the room was very comfortable and clean, the breakfast included in the room rate was great - I have Celiac Disease and I found somethings to eat! The hotel is located near the coast, and close to the bus station - where you can catch buses to all the destinations on Crete! I would for sure go back.

"Best 5 star experience in 20 years!"
This hotel is exceptional! The rooms were fabulous, the staff were more than attentive and the owners were simply generous and lovely. My wife and I have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and, as of late various locations in Europe only at 5 star hotels in the past 20 years. I can say without hesitation that Vergis Epavlis was by far the most accommodating and safe destinations we've been to. The owners not only helped us with directions and itinerary alterations but they invited us to a local feast at their friends home which was near the hotel. Cretan hospitality is something I read of but was not expected- these people really care about their guests! I have never once felt so secure to leave the room unlocked with our money and passports etc. It was simply the most outstanding 5 night stay we could imagine. Incredible view of Crete's largest city, absolutely quietest room and facilties. Possibly the most memorable stay we've had and this is no exaggeration!

Our family has a great stay in this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. My son really wanted to try Cretan style snails. The front office staff helped us locate a few restaurants. Every place they mentioned was fabulous. Great location. The hotel was very close to the Lion Fountain and tourist spots. There was also a grocery store around the corner - very nice as it let us buy inexpensive breakfasts.

"Lovely resort in a quiet location."
We stayed as a family of 3 for 2 weeks in a flat near the resort. The resort has some flats within the complex where the guests' swimming pool and restaurant/bar area is. It also has a house with it's own swimming pool and another house divided in two apartments not far from the resort. We were staying in the house with 2 apartments on the first floor and the two best things were: the amazing view of the city & the sea from the balconies (3 of them in total!!) and the great view from the bedroom. The flat was spacious enough for 3 people and had an open kitchen area with living room, a bathroom and a bedroom. The flat has air conditioning which works well and also Wi-Fi.....which works on some occasions ( we saw the service engineer try to fix the issue with it, but the best place to use the Wi-Fi is the swimming pool/restaurant area). The kitchen is clean and there are utensils and plates available. There is a sponge and washing up liquid available. The fridge is big and has a free bottle of water to welcome you. The bathroom has towels and toilet paper but no soap/shampoo/shower gel ... we had brought our own just in case. The cleaners come every 4 days and change the sheets and towels and clean the flat. Overall the flat is very nice, basic and a bit of DIY would make it more comfortable. Resort Customer service: this was 5 ***** !!! The owner doesn't speak much English but he does an effort to try and communicate how he can!! The person you can speak to for EVERYTHING

"A neat experience!"
This hotel is unique, but very interesting and pleasing! We were upgraded due to my husbands height. We needed a bed with no foot board. We were on the top floor....had a beautiful sunny deck...perfect for March sunshine! We looked out on snow covered mountains , a lemon tree, old buildings and roofs. And we could get a glimpse of the Fort! Very special for we two Canadians. Beds were comfortable, towels and supplies very nice. Breakfast included, down around the corner, was wonderful! Made to order, fresh orange juice, lots of bread, honey, special butter, yogurt topped with thyme and honey, eggs your way, and lots of lovely coffee. All of the staff treated us so well. English was spoken . A. Historic hotel.....an amazing experience!

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Anogia, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Anogia hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
