"Excellent restaurant "
Overall an excellent place to stay, a little remote, makes it good for a short stay, it is close to Inverness, but not much to do at the hotel.....the restaurant is very good, I'd compare it to a one star Michelin restaurant for food, the service in the restaurant was good, the staff are very nice and by Scottish standards very attentive compared to other restaurants we visited in Glasgow and Edinburgh.....I would 100% recommend and return.

"Hot, so hot"
Great location, room is modern and not too far from parking, but the room was uncomfortably hot and even with the window open for 3 days it was still reasonably uncomfortable. We are from Perth, Australia, so we know what warmth is and the days were mild (~17°), but temperature in the room was close to 25°. Room temp is probably acceptable for winter but not summer.

"Updated, somewhat secluded old hotel "
Our "midway" stop on our trip to Skye from Edinburgh. Comfy bed, spotless bathroom with shower, delicious food. Admired the trees and fairies on our walk before dinner, enjoyed a board game in the library after dinner, and had fun trying our hand at golf on the front lawn after a hearty breakfast.

"Decor outdated, but very nice for area"
THE GOOD The hotel is beautiful on the exterior, in a lovely setting. The bathroom is reasonably modern. My room was quite large. Breakfast was included and was tasty. The dining room & breakfast room were lovely. Staff was accommodating. There were lots of books on Scottish history lying around, which we enjoyed reading. THE BAD The rooms had no mini fridge. The room can get hot at night, which isn't great when they don't supply you a sheet (they only give you a duvet). The bedroom decor is dated - this was the most disappointing part. The wall coverings, bed coverings, carpet, and furniture looked like something out of a Williamsburg-y hotel 30 years ago. There is no elevator - and i had to walk up four distinct sets of stairs, which was rough even when it was without suitcases. Dinner is overpriced - there is a limited menu and it is a fixed price (you choose 1 of 2 entrees, 1 of 3 appetizers, etc.), but given the lack of options in the area that aren't pub food, it is probably your best bet.

"Impressive View with Indispensable Help "
My room had the most incredible view of the River Ness! Very beautiful. But what really made my stay so pleasant was the front receptionist, Victoria. From my arrival all the way to my departure, she was tremendously helpful in making sure my trip through Scotland was eventful. I thought I'd wing it, which turned out to be a mistake. A lot of the tours were booked up when I arrived. She went above and beyond throughout my stay at Glenmoriston to help me find a Highlands tour, figure out train schedules, and got me taxis. I should be paying her a travel agent's fee! She was key to me maximizing my experience during my time in Inverness and Scotland! For that, I am truly thankful for her help.

"Was ok for the price"
Perfect location, but the hotel was built in 1904 and one can only wonder when it was last refurbished. I guess the prices will go up if the owners tackle the long overdue need for a complete makeover.

"Nice hotel with good location."
It is a very nice apartment with almost all the facilities I needed including a washing machine and even a vacuum cleaner. It will be excellent if a safe is provided. It is very near the train station and the town center. There are also 3 supermarkets around which are walking distance away and many nice restaurants around too. Unfortunately, the room servicing was a little disappointed. One day, they forgot to make up one bed, another day they forgot to refill the kitchen towel and on Friday they forgot to empty the bin. Although I can empty myself but they never provide extra bin bags. And they gave me an extra room key that does not open my room door. Lastly not all the rooms face the river. I got a room without balcony and with no river view. At night, if the windows were opened it can be quite noisy and the room has no air-con.

"Great River View"
Overall this is a good hotel to stay at while visiting Inverness. The bathroom is a bit small compared to the very large room, but I've found the bathrooms are small in most Hotels in Scotland. The location is great, short walk to pretty much anywhere you want to go. Because of the location, the price is a little high, but so are all the other hotels in Inverness. I can't recommend the restaurant, our server was kind of snooty, the apps were a joke, but the main course was fabulous. The bar is a nice place to cap off the night. Oh, and they have an actual parking lot, bonus.

Alness is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Alness, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Alness hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
