No coffe maker in room as expected.very very dusty due to consruction. However if youre going to have it available it should be up to par for cleanliness. I garbage can in by the t.v. Tv did not work. I do think all of this was related to the construction because any other time i stayed there it was all very nice.

They can most definitely do better.

Our room had the most comfortable bed I have slept on in a long time. The room was clean and had everything needed. The only drawback to this hotel is that it is ageing, so the elevator rattles, the hallways are dark, and the room key cards are unreliable (the desk clerk warned us to keep them away from phones and other electronics, but even though we did, one stopped working). That said, the hotel is in a perfect and beautiful location, and we would stay there again.

Upon arrival and check in, our first offered room smelled awful, the second was a bit better & the third worked great. It was obviously a known issue because the staff asked if it smelled moldy when I said it smelled bad. Our 2nd room had some lights and a the bathroom fan that didn’t work. The 3rd was well maintained and quite clean. The pool got the most attention, which was comical considering the small of some of the rooms. I gave them 5 stars because the staff, specifically Freddy, went above and beyond for us. I knew traveling to a small town on a budget wasn’t going to give us a great room, but Freddy checked on us and made sure we enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was VERY poorly managed. They didn't restock items as they ran out. No plates, no glasses, and at one point we took it upon ourselves to get in the storage cabinet below to retrieve creamer for our coffee. When we did that, the front desk person just glared at us like we were doing something wrong and asked very snarkily if there's something they could help us with. Then they charged us an incidental fee when we arrived of $50 which is is normal, but when the transaction updated, it did not refund the full amount. Then when I called to ask why, I was told that they charge $10.70 per day to park in their lot. We were not informed of this prior and I had to search the fine print on Expedia to find where it says that they charge for parking. There are homeless people walking all around the parking lot and it was not at all secure. There are plenty of other options for parking on the same block and we definitely would've chose to park elsewhere had we have known.

The staff were friendly in the rooms were very nice.
