The property sits where all the action is. The room is very clean however the bed mattress gave us severe back problems. The mattress needs to be change because we were stuck in the middle like a taco. The host flipped it but the mattresses needed to be replaced. The property is straight to the point with needing somewhere to sleep and bathe and the host was lovely but to save my back maybe not.

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Franklin. The location was great, the spaces were clean and well maintained, the staff was helpful and courteous, and the room was pleasant and comfortable. The common kitchen space was convenient and a great feature. A few small nit picky things: The bathroom door in our room was not aligned properly so it was difficult to close and made quite a bit of noise, which was disturbing to a partner sleeping. Likewise, the french door leading to the rear patio on the 1st floor was extremely difficult to close, especially with items in one's hand. As I said, these were minor irritations which would not preclude me from returning, nor should it deter anyone from staying here,

Great location. Clean, well maintained property. Nice staff. Our Queen bed room was comfortable but def cozy. We had a great stay.

TLDR we left a day early because it was not what we were hoping for. Although I know you get what you pay for, this one was sadly pretty disappointing. We paid around $280 for a studio room for three nights. This might be around the cheapest you can find in Martha’s Vineyard in the middle of the summer, but reviews and pictures made it seem pretty legit. We got there around 1pm on the ferry and walked to the motel. It’s pretty conveniently located and right on the water which is great. We asked if we could do an early check in and they were still cleaning the rooms, so they said they’d call us when it was ready. At around 2:30pm we came back and decided to hang out at the private beach. This was probably the best part of our stay! At 3pm (check in time) they still hadn’t let us know if the room was ready. I went to the front desk to ask if it was and they sent someone to go look and came back 5-10 minutes past 3 to say it was ready. The room was spacious but the bathroom was not. The issue was that we were on the second floor (the top I had presumed), but we were one of two rooms that had another room above it. Unfortunately this room had a large family in it and because it was a rainy day, a lot of people were in their rooms. The family above us had their kids running and jumping around for literally 5+ hours. After 3 phone calls to the front and the manager talking to them, it only worsened and they couldn’t move us. We left the next morning for a more romantic stay

Wow, this was truly one of the best, if not the best, hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had. We booked here for a single night to celebrate our anniversary after staying in a less nice hotel for the previous few days. Boy was this a huge upgrade! Although it was 2x the price, it was 10x the experience. We got there at around 11am on a Wednesday just to drop off our bags, but they were able to get us into our room right away. They also personally walked us to the room and asked how our previous stay was and even offered us an upgrade since we had just come from a bit of a nightmare experience and because it was our anniversary. Besides the amazing room, bath robes, and breakfast, the staff were truly so kind and made our day so special! If I am ever to say “wow that was worth it!”, this is the place that deserves it.
