I loved it. Is it a bit shopworn, and maybe in need of some paint and places? Probably. But that’s also part of its charm. You also won’t find a television in your room, and power sockets are premium! But you’ll also feel like you’re staying in an Agatha Christie novel.
My room was room seven, with tall windows overlooking the street, a fireplace (no, it didn’t work, but it was great ambience), two beds, a lounge, multiple chairs, and a drop top desk in front of the window, where I did some work, and felt like very much like a character from the Great Gatsby. The dining room is top-notch, with a terrific bar—and be sure to order the Tabard donut.
Finally, it’s in a terrific location, easily accessible by the Dupont Metro, and within walking distance of a number of great restaurants. Stay here. You’re gonna love it.
