I was never aware that this was a private rental and I had no access to the resort activities

Spacious, clean, good location in Princeville and Hanalei.

Great location. They definitely hit you with the time-share sales pitch upon arrival. The restaurant, which is not the same company as the hotel, was beyond amazing!! And the pool bar staff and food was great!

This unit is at the Regency at Poipu Kai. The unit was tired...frayed carpets, years of scum/hard water buildup in the showers, generally fairly worn just from wear and tear. It was quiet and had plenty of space and snorkel gear an and a foam boogie board. Beds were good, had all the kitchen necessities and more. This unit does have AC. It's a ten minute walk to Poipu beach or to Shipwreck beach. Poipu itself was busier than Princeville, where we stayed for four days initially. If I were to do it again, I'd probably stay in Waimea for a night or two just to have access to the trails near there, and would have spent more time in the north end of the island where it was much less busy. Poipu seemed to have either expensive groceries or rotting-on-the-shelves groceries (Big Save - skip it), not a lot of mid-range eating options and felt a lot less laid back.
