Please be warned !! this is NOT Legend Hotel Minot !! The sign out front is Sonesta Essential. Two women travelers in a downpour trying to figure that out! The front desk clerk couldn't clarify over the phone. When we finally went inside anyway, the excuse was that they were "under renovation"..... The front lobby had the coffee machine labeled as "out of order" as were all the ice machines except one on the 2nd floor. We were on the fourth floor at the end of the hall. The fire escape was boarded up, as they were on the other floors. There is today NO renovations in progress.

Very basic motel. Bare bones but you get what you pay for. Pictures are not what you get. Clean. Bed,ok for comfort. Had a strong smell of pot anywhere you went and never went away.

The hotel looked wonderful on the outside and in the lobby and hallways. Our room was fine except for the sofa was ripped, the box spring bedskirt was ripped and dirty. Microwave wasn't plugged in and when we plugged it in and use it to heat water, it started smoking. Bed was soft and it was pretty quiet.

The people who work there are very nice. It was clean, well maintained and plenty of room to spread out -- especially for the price. Here are the negatives which is why I rated this as "Good" as opposed to "Excellent". They make you pay $4 a night to park. Really? for a motel dressed up as a hotel? Are you kidding me? I told the staff I was not happy because in five years if you don't say anything, it will be $20 a night to park. I am so sick of hospitality and airlines charging more money for things like parking and baggage. It needs regulation. The reason for the parking charge is so that it does not go into the hotel occupancy tax and the corps can save the $. For this reason I will not stay at a Staybridge ever again. Also the TV did not work well. I am not an idiot and could not figure out how to power it on. Reason? the cables were loose on the TV because it is hooked up to a DirectTV box that kept pulling out the TV power cord in the back. Otherwise pleasant stay.

The new renovations are great! The staff we met were very welcoming and helpful! And Sandra is a dedicated and hard working general manager who really cares about all her guests! Thank you Sandra!!
