I really did want to like this hotel. I had very high hopes. Unfortunately, from the moment we checked in, we were provided a key card to a room that had not been cleaned since the guest prior to our arrival. The bed was unmade, and there was trash on the floor. There was a half empty Starbucks cup on the counter. We immediately left and returned to the front desk to get our new room. The new room was better, but then just as we were about to go to sleep at least four times that night a fire alarm went off we were told there was no need to worry because the pipe had burst. Well unfortunately, this continued to go on, even into the next day. Then we had to deal with the smell of marijuana coming out of one of the rooms down the hall. It was disgusting We had signed up for a second night to stay over and once again the next morning, the fire alarm went off again. By then we just had enough and we left. We didn’t even stay over the second night at all. We left at 3:30pm in the afternoon. It was awful. I wish I could get my money and my time back.

We had a nice stay. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was in great shape. The staff workers that we interacted with were warm and helpful. My only complaint is that when we checked in and when we checked out, there was no one at the front desk. At check-in, we had to wait a bit, and there was no way to call for someone to come.

I booked this hotel the morning of my trip from Brooklyn to Utica for work. A blizzard warning came up unexpectedly, and for safety, I had to leave Utica immediately without checking in. I called Hotels.com and the hotel to request a refund or at least a credit for a future stay since I’ll be traveling to Utica often. The manager’s response was shocking: “You should have checked the weather.” No empathy, no flexibility—just rudeness. This attitude shows they value $150 over guest safety and long-term loyalty. If you care about being treated with respect and understanding, do not stay here. There are plenty of hotels that prioritize their guests’ well-being—this is not one of them.

I agree with the review given on our last day at 3am. The experience was not well received. The kids hockey families were there creating havoc with kids unsupervised running and playing in the hall with nets and hockey sticks. The gym room was full of unsupervised kids. Parents in the bar with beer buckets with their own agenda while kids again on the pool table with hockey sticks. View your video footage from the the time we were there. Security was lacking staff was minimal and overwhelmed with the chaos going on. In their defense, they were great with what they had to deal with. Would not recommend staying again for us or anyone. Obviously management was in it for the money 💰.
