No frills room. The queen bed near the wall in 276 sagged heavily toward the bedstand. Bedstand had a broken drawer. Bathroom was tiny. Shower curtain didn’t reach the floor so water flooded the floor. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The Southern Oaks lost its southern charm and hospitality. The front desk guy was curt, the room basic and with dirty floors, and the breakfast not worth attending. The shuttle bus to downtown is now a pay service, as is unsecure parking. We won’t be back.

Everything went well. Great friendly staff, clean rooms and great breakfast. Also the shuttle is a great feature, saves time from getting stuck in traffic and no worries on having to look for parking in the Historic area. Made our stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice clean room with a fair bed. Large, clean parking lot. Very nice breakfast area with good food and wonderful staff. No cable guide in my room and was told twice at the front desk they had ran out. Kinda lame. Isn't that just a word document? The front desk staff were always helpful and recommended the Mexican restaurant just to the south and that was fantastic! I felt the parking fee was excessive since the hotel is a long way to 90% of the tourist attractions and the historical district itself. Stayed 5 nights and would stay again. Overall, a good value for the money.
