3 Generations Girl’s Trip from Nebraska

This is our second stay. We were so impressed with the first stay, we chose to stay again and not hotel “hunt”. We were just as impressed. We arrived about 9 pm and the desk clerk we so nice and efficient, a breath of fresh air after traveling for 11 hours.

My sister and I stayed I had gone down for breakfast and she was in the room and 2 girls walked in and she ask what they were doing they said they were looking for a phone they said a worker let them in but no worker was with them when I went to the front desk Kara who was working said they told her they needed to go to their grandmothers room and she gave them a key….makes me very leary of staying Here and I feel like they security was not good that they just give anyone a key to someone’s room…I feel very violated

I had made a reservation through Expedia for one night several weeks prior to my planned visit. I confirmed the reservation through Expedia but did not contact the hotel directly. That defeats the purpose of using the Expedia process. Regardless, when I arrived I was told my reservation was cancelled by the manager due to the hotel not being able to contact me due to a problem charging the card. Their excuse is that they sent an email to Expedia requesting contact information and did not get a response. My contact information was clearly available to them in my reservation. However, the card is not supposed to be charged until I arrive or past the latest check in time (midnight) . I contacted Expedia and they determined that the reason for cancellation was because the hotel overbooked and conveniently used the excuse that my card did not process to cancel my reservation and open up a room for someone else. The most frustrating part of all of this was that I was told that I could not speak to a manager until 7:00 AM the next day. How will that help get me a room? The only saving grace was the desk clerk kindly found me another Hampton Inn in the area (at a higher cost).Bottom line - make sure you contact this hotel directly prior to arrival otherwise, you too may be literally out in the cold.
