My best hotel stay ever. Every detail was thought of and executed!

Staff was friendly and room was clean. Outdoor space was dusty and had spider webs. Its a convenient location, but you must know that the property is next to a cemetery and the balcony view is the cemetery or if your on the ground level you walk out to the cemetary. The restaurant was closed, but they did offer complimentary continental breakfast.

Perfect location right on Monterey Bay between Lovers Point and Cannery Row. GREAT way to start each day by our favorite breakfast chef Carmen - truly extraordinary with everything made from scratch. Wine and cheese happy hour each afternoon at 4:00 is a great way to meet some of the other guests. The house was built in 1888 and there was an extensive remodel 3 years ago to spruce things up a bit without losing any of its Victorian charm. We will be back - thank you!! Jack & Amy - Ft. The property grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Lots to do. Great hiking trails around. The main building "the lodge" where reception, restaurant and spa are is very nice, contemporary and well maintained. The issue is the rooms. We got a "vineyard oak studio with outside tub". The rooms are VERY dark and cavernous despite the sliding door window. The view is also mainly completely blocked by oak trees. Based on the layout of the property I don't think there is actual vineyard views, most are oak trees, which is great except it makes the rooms very dark. Don't expect to get the views from the marketing pictures, maybe there's just a couple like that. The rooms themselves are VERY tired. Think 2000's stripe brown carpet (questionable). A random sofa floating in the room. A tiny little "art" frame that goes with nothing on a huge wall...Can't possibly have been decorated by an interieur decorator worth that name. Outside chairs/cushions are destroyed. For those prices, the room feel more like a $199/night hotel at best. A renovation is WAY overdue to command those prices. We saw a different room in another part of property, which was the same. The rest of the property is lovely though.

A Complete Disaster from Check-In to Check-Out ​My recent stay at this property was incredibly frustrating, defined by terrible infrastructure, a complete lack of sleep, and unhelpful service. I strongly advise looking elsewhere if you value basic comfort. Here is exactly what went wrong during my stay: ​Incompetent Check-In: I was promised a seamless contactless check-in with an access code. Instead, unhelpful staff blamed my Expedia booking, demanded a physical credit card, and forced me to wait 30 minutes while their system crashed and restarted twice before finally giving me access to my room. ​Pain-Inducing Mattress: The bed was severely overused and completely broken down. Both sides of the mattress sagged so deeply that we physically sank into it, resulting in terrible back pain for both of us by the morning. ​Zero Soundproofing: The building is old and lacks any noise mitigation. The guest in the room above us walked around all night, and every heavy footstep echoed loudly into our room. Between the noise and the bed, sleep was impossible. ​Absurdly Low Shower Head: The shower head was mounted a mere five feet off the ground. It was completely useless for an adult, making it physically impossible to stand underneath it and take a proper shower. ​Unusable Parking: The parking lot layout is a serious issue. The spaces are strangely and impractically narrow—to the point where a single standard vehicle barely fits across two adjacent spots. ​Between the agonizing mattress
