WONDERFUL! Wonderful! Wonderful!

Just keeping it real, but this was the worst hotel stay we have ever had. It was a gross error of advertising. There was no restaurant, no game room and no hot tub. The picture of the room that we stayed in, which was the Sugarmaple, was not even accurate. It was painted a gross navy blue, and there was no mirrored dresser like the advertisement says. The overhead light in the room was some hideous chandelier that did not match anything and was not your quintessential Vermont Inn decor. The bathroom was clean enough, but the grout in the shower was mildew stained. When I first walked in to check in, the front desk appeared to be like a work zone. Very unprofessional . The only reason I didn’t say anything to them and try to leave was because it was the first week of October and I knew we would not be able to find another room anywhere else. They definitely need to come down on their price and change their advertising until they get it remodeled and back up to par.

Very unique house with lovely furnishings. Owners were very helpful and breakfast was delicious.

We stayed in room 106 Room, Lake View (Lodge). It was perfect. Super easy checkin, exceptionally clean room, well maintained property, and we had an amazing view. The Lodge has a fantastic Tap Room with a fantastic menu that seems to be loved by both the locals and tourist which say a lot! The property offers everything you could want/need in any season. I would highly recommend and will return! Excellent stay!

The Golden Stage Inn was one of the highlights of our Vermont trip. Mike and Julie are wonderful hosts and have clearly put so much care into making the entire experience special. Our room was cozy, spacious, and beautifully kept, with a fireplace, lovely bathroom, and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in while traveling. Breakfast alone is a reason to stay here. The two-course breakfasts were phenomenal, with fresh, local ingredients, juice, and plenty of coffee, all served in a gorgeous sunroom overlooking the Vermont scenery. Julie also helped us plan our day exploring Woodstock and the surrounding fall foliage, and every recommendation she gave us was spot on. The personal touches and hospitality really set this place apart. We left already talking about when we could come back. An absolutely wonderful Vermont inn!
