"Hotel With Lots of Potential, Falls Short"
Jaba Nibu was quite an adventure. You cannot get there by road, ONLY BOAT but this was surprisingly beautiful. You will need to pay for your way to and from the hotel so if you plan on returning several times a day to Santa Marta I suggest you look elsewhere because it can add up, especially during late hours where they charge 40,000 pesos per person or more. Hotel is centered around the idea of sustainability. This is mostly an illusion but adds a charm. Houses are build out of local material with fashionable accessories. LED lighting in the rooms was absolutely terrible. I could barely see after the sun set and would recommend changing the lights to something with more lumens. Because the hotel is placed on the side of a mountain, you should expect to climb a significant amount of stairs several times a day. Hotel staff was considerably nice, friendly and helpful. Though don't eat at the restaurant. Everything is overpriced and not as fresh as you would think. The ribs were a frozen monstrosity that I largely regret. Juices were 12,000 pesos and could be bought a mere 100 feet away for 4,000 pesps

"Nice cozzy hotel"
Very cool hotel in the heart of santa marta downtown. Cool rooms with unique themes. I stayed in the asian room. Best of all is the breakfast on the hitel patio, next to the pool and fountain.

"Great getaway "
After hard travelling for several weeks, this was a luxurious treat and great value for money. It was 15 minutes walk from the main town of Minca which meant peace and quiet and relative seclusion. We had a wonderful view from the balcony and the room was comfortable and had all that we required. The breakfasts were good and plentiful, the staff helpful and courteous.

"Asi Asi.... read all reviews...."
When i first walked in the lobby, I was not pleased. For the amount of $$ I spent to travel from Medellin to Santa Marta, Colombia, a bundle package for 2 ppl $1560 USD for 3 nights (with flights), I was expecting an upscale place for sure. The neighborhood was extremely run down, the approach to hotel and lobby also looked very 'worn'. Within 30 minutes of check in I was literally on the phone with Expedia to try to transfer to somewhere else. When that didnt work, I surrendered. The room: super clean / hot water / AC, but very sparse furnishings, not even a mirror in the room, just one in the bathroom, which makes 2 ppl getting ready a pain. We got the junior suite, but was just a room with bed, 2 nite stands and one desk & chair. 2 walls of sliding glass doors, but the curtains only open on one side, leaving little view. I fixed that on my last day as youll see in photos - i figured out a way to tie up the curtains. LOL. Nice balcony. Room overlooked rooftops and a little water view, a block away and alot of construction next door, but was not noisy. The pools: Ist floor pool is ok, right off the restaurant. quiet, plastic lounges, nothing special. no view, but there is a waterfall at end of pool, looks pretty in pictures. The rooftop pool is better, called the SkyBar - there is a restaurant and a lounge there, but beware, we went up there Wednesday night for cocktails and chill and ...CLOSED. really? yes, they said they close every Wednesday. Not cool in a hotel

Santa Marta is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Santa Marta, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Santa Marta hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
