The hotel easily exceeded my expectations. The hotel is a modern conversion of an old building with before and after photographs on the staircase. It has art exhibitions, art showroom, bistro and a cellar bar with a terrific record (vinyl) collection and occasional live bands (but don't worry, there is another floor between the basement and first floor of bedrooms). The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned daily. Location-wise I found it perfect for exploring Sofia on foot and clean and comfortable to return to at the end of the day.

I always stay here on trips to our office in Sofia. Very clean, no-touch check-in (all mobile app), free breakfast, free co-working space, high-speed wifi ... it checks all the boxes for a business trip. I usually book the rooms which have the balcony / porch, which always have a great view of the mountains, and the rooms are huge. More grocery / restaurants w/in a 5 minue walk than you'll ever need to use.

The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in and suggesting restaurants. The locations is central and easy to get to.

Hotel Lion was in beautiful historic building conveniently located next to a metro station and within walking distance to most attractions in Sofia. There was a lovely cafe next to the hotel. In addition, there are many good cafes, restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Staff were helpful. The only small issue was an odour from the bathroom even though my room and the bathroom were clean.
