We have stayed here multiple times over the years. We accepted the property for what it is - barely mediocre. What won us over was its location on the beach and proximity to off-site restaurants. Our last stay however broke the camel's back. The AC stopped working after a couple of nights. Repair guy came and said he fixed it. The next day, the room was hot again. Same guy came back and said it was as good as it gets. We were offered to move to another room. The AC there worked and we enjoyed it for a night. Until it went out the next day!!! Every day after that it was "fixed" and stopped working every single night. Unacceptable! We barely ate on site but checked out the buffet just in case something appealed to us. One night, a little boy was helping himself at the dessert station. Every time he used the tongs to grab a piece of cake, he licked it!! Running out of characters...wifi in the room was awful. Had to be close to the balcony to get some reception. According to the staff, wifi in room is not guaranteed. OK. Had been to many countries, islands with much less infrastructure and never encountered this issue. Lastly, had to remove the "don't disturb" sign for the repairman to get in. Came back and all the towels from our bathroom were removed. No housekeeping done. Not that I asked for it. Called for towels and body wash. Cleaning lady came promptly and replenished the wash. Great. Then she poured the same stuff into shampoo/conditioner dispenser!

The room has issues , the padio doors don't close properly causing masquittos and flies to get inside. The AC in the living room is almost non exisitant causing the temperature to never get under 75C in the bedrooms ithe AC works well. They list it as a 3 star but id say its more of a 2 star. During the night we saw coachroaches or mayby they were palmetto bugs running across the floor, lots of ants too. The room is spacious and nice just need to adresse the padio doors and reduce the ants and bugs but then again we are in the Dominican so cant expect perfection.

Within the first 24hr of our stay, we experienced a number of issues which ultimately resulted in us leaving after one night (booked for 4 nights). - the day before checking in, we received a message stating that the property was trying to charge our card for the whole booking even though we had already booked and paid in full through Expedia. Luckily the bank rejected the payment and we resolved the issue with the property. -upon arrival, we noticed a lot of damage to the room. looks like water damage, missing lights, fans not working and door handles falling off. - we were locked out 2x times on our first day. The property uses an app that creates a code on the lock. This didn’t work the first time and WAS CONFIRMED TO BE MALFUNCTIONING and needed to be re programmed. The 2nd time we were locked out at 9:30pm at night. There is no front desk worker however there was a maintenance person who was eventually able to let us in. This was stressful. - that same night there was a big party above us and went on until 3am. My wife and I didn’t sleep much that night. - due to these two issues on the first night we decided to leave and request a refund. The property denied it however said, if they could recoup their money from the party people above us through their security deposit, they would refund us. They never did but offered us 100$ for the inconvenience which we never received. Will never book a Kristy Collection property again after being treated this bad.
