No reason to leave the property. The El Rancho is a gem hidden just off I-40 in Gallup. The rooms in the main building were updated (I cannot speak for the annex), but I think I would always want to be in the main building. The building retains the historic quality while providing todays amenities. The restaurant and bar provided fantastic cocktails and food, and the service was very client centric. They offer great shopping for Route 66 memorabilia and native items local to the area. The age group is retirees and the hotel is relaxing and adventurous all at the same time. I will return to this hotel and bring other guests with me to experience this little gem.

Clean room, parking, breakfast and staff

The staff was excellent, helping with questions regarding the TV. The maintenance needs to be improved. The toilet flap valve broke, things happen. The. Breakfast was very minimal. There was no non sticking spray for the waffle maker. When asked about it, the attendant said it had been ordered. Small things I know but small things make the difference.

Located right off the main highway, easy on/off, have a Denny's Restaurant in the same parking lot. Bed was very comfortable and room was quiet, although you could her ambient highway noise all night. No pool. No Jacuzzi. Recommend this as a good place to stay if you're travelling thru.
