If you are a light sleeper ....

It is near a main road into Pendleton so the truck traffic in the evening and early morning is rather loud. In addition there are train tracks nearby with trains rumbling through at night, so if you are a light sleeper take that into consideration. It is older construction and if you are on the bottom floor, the squeaking from guests above on the upper floor can be annoying. That being said, the continental breakfast was the best part. Simple fair, but filling.

Great place!

Room was perfect for our needs. We were just passing through so need & bath was all we needed. It was very clean & smartly decorated. Hair dryer, fridge, microwave, coffee pot. And pet friendly! Win, win!

It's not a big box motel. It has a nostalgic feel, and the staff has obviously put thought into little details to make it welcoming and comfortable.

I thought this place looked cozy and comfortable and realized why after we got there-the bed frame on the bed was a country style we had until recently, as well as the tv cabinet and a couple of chairs with woven seats like ours. They had a higher toilet seat and a lower tub edge than other hotels we have been staying at which was really helpful because I hurt my knee a couple of days ago and it hurts to bend much. Good water pressure in shower and colorful shower curtain and tiles were another homey touch. Plus they had roses blooming out front and a free breakfast. Very nice gentleman at the desk. Would stay here again.

Charming, Clean, Comfortable

My needs were simple for one night stay - room was clean, bed and pillows were comfy, water temperature was hot and pressure was good; AC was in good working order, too. The property is situated in a neighborhood so all windows opened to neighbors - it didn't matter for my stay or needs. I loved the potted plants, the pineapple entry rugs, and the smallness of it all. Not a big box hotel and that was fine with me. I didn't make it to breakfast, but I'd stay again for comfort and the rate, plus location - just up the road from the Roundup, near the Pendleton Woolen Mills, too.

Great stay!!

We had a very nice time in Pendleton and The Rugged Country Inn didn’t disappoint! It was clean, comfortable, and cozy w a really good TV to watch football at night! The breakfast was simple but very adequate and the staff were friendly and helpful! Would recommend any time!
