Second time at RHI; have to admit, first time was a little trepidatious at a “motel” setting, but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, and the staff are, to a person, helpful and welcoming. Entirely a positive experience.

Has the potential to be a hidden gem. Affordable rooms on a nice lot, just off Prince of Whales, south of Ottawa. The rooms have been updated (cosmetically), and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The room was much nicer than the pictures posted online! We ran into the following issues (in room #34): -toilet worked intermittently (just had to take the lid off to get the water to refill, from time to time) -landline phone did not work (not a big deal if you have a cell phone) -the TV had a "white noise" in the background. The louder the volume got, the louder the white noise got in the background - if that makes sense? The staff did change out the TV while we were out (I didn't see them, but I have no reason not to believe them), however it did not rectify the issue -the "continental breakfast" should not have been advertised as such...in my humble opinion! Processed muffins, tea, coffee, yogurt, 3 types of cereal. That's it!! Better than nothing I suppose, but when I think of Continental Breakfasts, I'm thinking eggs, sausage, pancakes, breads, a toaster, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc? All that said, the night front desk person was kind and did the best he could to rectify the issues we had (mainly with the TV). Management was kind enough to give us a discount for the issues. They did offer to move us the next day, however we declined as they didn't have any other rooms available with 2 beds. Will probably give this hotel another chance in the future!

Very clean, pleasant scent for the cleanliness. Room was quiet, served our needs for a one night stay. We would stay there again if necessary. Breakfast is basic, nothing fancy, but that is not a problem.

Great place to stay overnight in Ottawa.

Me and my family stayed here for 2 nights while being in Ottawa for our kids competition. The stay was great. They have a huge parking and the car is parked right in front of the door. The place was clean and warm and we liked it. We were able to find restaurants in an 5 minute drive area for any kind of taste.

The rooms are very clean, house keepers are doing a great, the beds are great, friendly receptionist most especially the guy called Dion, what a guy. The most impressive part of the hotel is the room. If the management can find a way of building barricades in front if the doors preventing snow from entering into the rooms, that will be nice. Anyways my sleep ways great.
