For a start: The 10/10 reviews are from the staff themselves. Nobody in their right mind will give this hotel a 10/10 rating.
The sheets were dingy and had little holes, The space behind the bathroom doors had not been cleaned in months - we found all kinds of hairs and debris. Someone has to tell the cleaning staff that they have to go into the bathroom and actually close the door to clean behind it. You know, the space you're constantly looking at when sitting on the toilet.
Upon check-in I was informed that my room would have outdoor access, which as a woman I always try to avoid for safety concerns. I told the gentleman that was checking me in, that I always check the photos of the hotel to make sure their rooms have no outdoor access. In none of the pictures published could an outdoor access room be seen. He said he could give me an indoor room for $50 more. I refused to pay more but kept bickering at him. He finally agreed to give me an indoor room - without charging extra. Seems to be a good scam that they are running.
The icing on the cake was the breakfast though. If you want to call it that. It's been served in the attached bar/restaurant. When entering the room we were greeted by a sign with some 'rules'. 'Don't be greedy' - 'One plate per person' - 'Don't sit on the bar stools' etc. Not very welcoming. The breakfast itself was a joke. There were literally 5 ketchup packs in the bowl, no butter available (not even after I asked for it). So we had dry toast.
