Quaint hotel in the heart of Toledo. The staff was very friendly and great in explaining directions. Room overlooked tiled roofs which was nice. Hotel had a roof top bar with amazing view of Toledo and its Cathedral. A most to go and spend an evening.

María Cristina Hotel

C/ Marqués de Mendigorría nº1, Toledo - Map
"Beautiful, traditional, classy hotel"
We chose María Cristina Hotel because it looked very traditionally Spanish, was reasonably priced, and had air conditioning (Toledo in the summer is HOT!). What we found exceeded our expectations. The hotel is located a short walk outside the old city walls, near the old bullfight arena. Inside the floors are cool tile, the decor is traditional Spanish, and even the furniture is reproduction 17th - 18th century Spanish! I found the staff cool but professional and very accommodating; they gave us maps and explained all the sights we wanted to see on our brief stay. Our room was enormous - with 2 beds for the 3 of us, there was plenty of room in between and all around. We could simultaneously open all our suitcases and still have room to stretch out. Decor was again traditional - nice tile floor in the entry, a full built-in armoire for our stuff. Lovely white-tiled, contemporary bathroom. We had a balcony that opened onto a (admittedly homely) courtyard. The next morning we had the buffet breakfast - very complete and of excellent quality. Since people in Spain don't usually eat big breakfasts, I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was a lovely meal in a beautiful space. We would quickly choose to stay here again.

"Pleasant hotel with lovely views"
This is a budget hotel but excellent value for money. Staff are excellent and very attentive and the room was large and had a wonderful view over the river valley. Breakfast was adequate - abundant if you like sweet things! Toledo is a town of hills and this hotel is in the valley so everywhere is up! We took a three-day city break and there is more than enough to fill all of that time just in Toledo. We did make use of a hired car to get around and the drive to Avila is well worth the time. Aranjuez is an easy visit to make on the journey from Toledo to the airport in Madrid Enjoy the gastronomy of Toledo - there is a wide choice of restaurants for everything from tapas to high-end dining e.g. the wonderful Alfileritos 24 (the name is also the address) which has wonderful food, amazing staff and really impressive internal architecture/design.

"Convenient location. Comfortable. Modern. Helpful."
Great location. Totally convenient, inside the walls. I liked the quick and easy check in with details of near by private parking and near 50% reduced rate of €12 when purchased at hotel. I thought room 32 a little noisy, with French windows open, but the double doors completely alleviated that. I would have breakfast elsewhere up the steps into the old town. Quality of breakfast buffet was okish; they had soy milk. Worth the €8 pp though. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent value stay at €74 for a Thursday night September 15.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
