Great location, beautiful setting, spacious rooms. I wanted to love the Malaga Inn, but I was disappointed. Obviously, it is an old building and I understand that it will never be like a newly constructed hotel, but my overall impression was that the place was shabby and tired. Our room needed a top to bottom deep clean. There was visible built up dust on the doors. One of the closet doors was missing and the one that was there had what appeared to be makeup that possibly squirted out of the bottle onto the door and dried there. Our bathroom had no toilet paper holder, so the T.P. just sat on the tank. Also, the headboards on our beds did not seem to be connected to the bed frames. The elevator was not working, so we had to lug our luggage upstairs. Thankfully we were only on the 2nd floor. When we arrived, the woman at the desk said that we Expedia should have contacted me because my credit card was declined (I was never contacted & the card was good) and that I was lucky that they were going to accommodate us at all since it was a busy weekend. I was kind of taken aback because she made it seem like it was my fault. We had 2 rooms. We stayed there for the Senior Bowl. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet even though it was supposedly full. The building is beautiful; I’m sure was stunning when it was newly renovated, but it needs work. Everything looked like it had seen better days. The lobby was full of boxes and it looked like they had ordered new furnishing.
