Although the hotel staff was friendly and apologetic, the overall experience fell well below reasonable expectations. Upon our arrival, we discovered that the hotel elevator was not working. We were traveling with two elderly family members who had considerable difficulty climbing the stairs. This created an unnecessary hardship and significantly affected their comfort and ability to access their room. More concerning, during the night, I noticed a strong smell of marijuana in our room. Upon opening the nightstand, I discovered a bag containing marijuana along with dirty clothing that had apparently been left behind by a previous guest. Finding these items in a hotel room was extremely disturbing and raised serious concerns about the property's housekeeping standards and the safety of its guests. Had a child been traveling with us, the presence of marijuana within easy reach could have posed a serious safety risk. I immediately brought the situation to the staff's attention. Although the staff apologized, the response was inadequate. After I requested that the room be cleaned, the staff removed the dirty clothing and marijuana but did not thoroughly clean the room. This did not adequately address my concerns about the condition of the room . I appreciate that the staff members were courteous; however, friendliness alone does not resolve the significant issues we experienced. The nonfunctioning elevator, the difficulty imposed on our

We loved our stay and can’t wait to go back! My partner and I stayed in the queen suite on the main floor and had a lovely trip. We were there for six nights, which gave us plenty of time to get comfortable and make use of the amenities. Our favorite things were the proximity to so many great places to hike, the quiet and slow pace of the town itself, and the use of the lovely kitchen. (I have food allergies, so it is always nice for me to be able to prepare my own meals.) Another reviewer mentioned the bright lights outside, so we packed sleep masks. These were put to good use, and I recommend others pack these as well. The owner was so friendly and helpful without hovering. Check in and out were so easy, and he is super knowledgeable about the history of the town and area. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to be - this is your place. It is so beautiful and tranquil. I hope to return next fall for more beautiful hiking adventures!

Our single king room was spacious and clean. Breakfast offered egg and sausage patties to make an English muffin breakfast sandwich as well as cereal and waffles. The hotel was short staffed when we stayed. The halls hadn't been cleaned and our room had no towels. The front desk apologized and provided us with fresh towels. He explained the laundry staff had been at work all day trying to catch up on laundry.

My stay was ok. Small room. Just the basics...good for sleep and shower. Room was clean. Property a little older. Parking lot definitely in need of repair.
