"Pleasant enough"
We stayed as a family of four for one night only. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Room size was good. Dirty cutlery and plates from the previous tenant was not a nice welcome but I guess that's not the hotel's fault. The main letdown was the shower off the main bedroom. There is almost no water pressure and if anyone else in the unit uses the other shower at the same time there is no hot water. The outdoor pool was a bonus. I guess overall the hotel was alright but I wonder if for the same money there might be something else just that little bit newer.

Little National Hotel - Barton Hotels

Little National Hotel

21 National Circuit, Barton - Map
"Good value, new hotel for business travellers"
In town for a conference at the Realm across the road, the Little National (brand new, and part of 4 hotels including the Realm within 5 minutes walk all managed by the same group and sharing facilities) was perfect for a solo business traveller. The king bed rooms are exactly as in the photos - they're the same width as the king bed with bed against the window - great for one person, perhaps annoying for a couple. Following bigger city trend, the hotel focuses on high quality common areas and lounges to make up for smaller rooms. Good WiFi included (and free movies on demand), and shared use of high quality gym facilities with the other hotels in the group nearby.

Pavilion on Northbourne

242 Northbourne Avenue, Dickson - Map
"Great Location"
We have stayed at the Pavilion before and it was great then and it is still great now. The reason is that the location is very well situated for us and will return to the Pavilion next time we need to go to Canberra. I would also like to say that the eating and bar area under the tent like top and many plants made for a relaxed place to be with friends or just ourselves. The menu was very good as well. We will recommend it to anyone who asks us where to stay in Canberra, so keep up the quality and maybe it is time to upgrade some of the rooms as the furnishings looked a little tired. But as l said apart from that small comment we will stay again.

ANU - University House Hotel

"A slice of history, well-connected"
I loved this place. Straight out of the 1950s. Full of character right down to the original Australian designed and built timber furniture. Wonderful amenities include library, restaurant, cafeteria, tavern, gardens, great hall. Brilliant location; campus all around, Acton cafes and entertainment venues on doorstep; easy walk to lakeside and across bridge to Parliamentary Zone's sublime cultural institutions.

"New owners and staff."
We were warned at check-in that the hot water service was not working, but that emergency plumbing was under way. We managed ONE hot shower during our 2-night stay. Manager was very contrite and tried hard. We would use the motel again. It was clean and quiet, and walking distance to shopping.

Hotel Kurrajong Canberra

8 National Circuit, Barton - Map
Have stayed here before and looked forward to return trip. Room was a bit small this time, though comfortable and well appointed. Parking remains an issue (no where near enough) as does coffee. The room came with a pod machine and 4 pods - for 2 people over 2 days and not refreshed. Given that 2 pods were strong expresso, if left us short. Hotel restaurant serves good coffee, but that wasn't an option when we arrived/returned late.

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Lake George, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Lake George hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
