Very pleasant experience from checking in to when we left. Very helpful front desk staff and hotel was very clean.

Nice place. Rooms are large, and there is ample space in the common areas. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. My room had a small balcony.

This new-construction "luxury" resort has 3-star hotel pricing, but the service and amenities are substandard compared to a KOA campground. It's the Temu-sourced version of wine-country-event rental cabins, with the slanted floors and spray-foam assembly that entails. The builder attempted to provide a few deluxe features on a shoestring budget and the result is worse than if they had not tried, like the crudely embedded Chinese plastic LED light strip in a gouged-out channel in the wall board, instead of a standard light fixture. If the work were done well, it would be impressive, but everything on the property is the cheapest possible version of that item to ever exist, and all construction is done in the most careless and slapdash fashion possible, with exposed seams, glue gun and duct tape fixes everywhere. It's almost impressively consistent. Our box spring sagged like it was broken, the recreational rooms are locked away and dark, and scattered construction supplies are just part of the scenery from our cabin's door. The hot tubs are unfiltered, so if you choose to spend an extra $30 a day on firewood, you can warm up a giant plastic bowl of cut grass and insect soup to soak in, if you like (we did not). "Virtual front desk" simply means that you'll be virtually unable to get any assistance in person. The owner or manager is absent from the property, leaving all service and maintenance to a handful of caretakers with a minimal grasp of the English language.

I can show pictures of the unit that was very different than described. I paid extra for a Mountain View for 3 nights - and it was not Mountain View. We were in a different building at the bottom of the hill a 8 min freeezing cold and icy walk to the pool area.

There was a lot to love about Holiday Inn Club Vacations Mount Ascutney, especially for a larger family or group. Our three-bedroom villa was BY FAR the largest accommodation of our trip and surprisingly affordable. We had tons of room to spread out, a decent-sized kitchen for cooking, and FREE laundry—a huge win during a long road trip! The villa kitchen was helpful but pretty minimally stocked. Cooking utensils and cutting boards were lacking, so bring some basics if you plan to cook. Grills are available, but you’ll need charcoal. I’d recommend buying it and any groceries before arriving because the onsite marketplace is expensive. The biggest disappointment was the pool, which is closed through 2027. Traveling with kids, that was a major bummer and definitely something families should know before booking. The location is incredibly beautiful, tucked away on a Vermont mountainside, but it is truly in the middle of nowhere. Come prepared! Overall, the incredible amount of space and affordability made it work really well for our group. It wasn’t our favorite stay of the trip, but the value for a three-bedroom villa was hard to beat.
