Friendliest front staff. Large accommodations. Convenient location.

The walls are thin, so I could hear the person next door snoring, the people below talking and the people above walking around. Everything worked and was clean. The "extras" are very expensive. Games in the arcade were $2-7 bucks a game. A shaved ice was $8-10. Wifi was outrageously expensive - $70 for 6 devices for 10 days, even if you are staying just 3 days you have no lesser choice. The pools are relatively shallow, kid friendly, so great if you have little ones.

I loved my stay here. The property is beautiful, relaxing, and full of character. The main swimming pool is especially nice for lounging and grabbing a drink. The drinks were good, although I did think the prices were overpriced, but that is to be expected at a resort. Because the property is older and historic, some of the rooms still have dated closets, cabinetry, and finishes. I think those areas could definitely use some updating, especially for a hotel considered to be at this level. Other than that, I had a great experience. The staff was wonderful, the location was peaceful and beautiful, and I would absolutely stay here again. Just keep in mind that room rates can vary dramatically depending on the season and when you book. I paid a little under $400 per night, but I’ve seen rates go over $500. Personally, I don’t think the rooms themselves quite justify that higher price point, although I still really enjoy the hotel and appreciate its historic charm. Parking was very convenient. There is an additional fee, but I was able to park close to my room and never had trouble finding a space. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily return.

We previously attempted to communicate directly with the property manager about our concerns, but didn’t receive any response. Below are the issues we experienced: During check-in, issues with the front door lock and access code after traveling 14+ hours and it being 100+ degrees outside (poor communication); Garbage left in guest bedroom dresser (McDonald’s cup with liquid); All nightstands dusty and dirty; Hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner bottles empty or nearly empty in guest bathroom; Guest shower drain clogged in bathroom and drained very slowly; AC vent rattled loudly in master bedroom, and every time it shut off through the night it sounded like a door slamming shut; Old food left in freezer; Several kitchen drawers had food crumbs in them and were dirty; Pool dirty with debris and dead lizards; Broken landscaping lights and other debris/trash in outdoor areas (front porch and around pool); Foosball table broken and unusable; No instructions regarding trash pick up found. Trash bin full upon arrival with little room for our trash; 3rd night - home lost power in master bed and bath. Took several hours to resolve. Communication was poor until a maintenance worker finally called. He was helpful. We took care of the smaller items and worked around things, but wanted the property manager to know so these issues can be fixed for future guests. To date, no acknowledgment or response was received. Would not stay here again.

No expresso machine, mice running through the house, scratching noises by our bedroom door, the pool and jacuzzi was ungodly, filthy, and so small, impossible to even imagine that it was written that it actually is a pool- smaller than a bathtub.
