I believe the hotel owner seriously invested on this hotel as I found the materials in use are mostly quality building materials. However, due to aging and maintenance is not followed properly, many areas are found poorly maintained.
The hotel has a convenient location close to the core centre of Causeway Bay. Room siza is a bit of small but is still acceptable.
The hardware is generally good, but is lack of proper maintenance especially engineering work is way of sub-standard. They can't even did it right for caulking.
Check-in process is taking a bit of long if your booking is for more than one room. Staff at the reception is green and cocky and lack of simle when servicing.
Housekeeping is pretty good and they offer daily makeup of your room and replacement of linen.
The restaurant is decent. Breakfast is basic and breakfast varieties are limited abd are repeating everyday. It is boring.
Staff is in general friendly and helpful especially the concierge that they are knowledgeable and positively helpful.

Thank you the wonderful staff who went above and beyond to get me a cab and also loaded my luggages into the car just so I could catch my flight on time. I was really touched by their helpfulness and it makes me want to come back to the hotel. However, the reasons why I might not be going back is because I understand that most buildings in Hongkong are old and there's nothing much you can do about it. But maybe there's a problem with the sewage and even the air ventilation. I say this because after flushing the toilet, the water still looks a little dirty. It has yellowish color doesn't how many times you try to flush it. You won't see clear color and it made me wonder if that's the same condition of the sink water that I used to wash my face and brush my teeth. Anyway, it's either the air quality in Hongkong or the water but my throat was kinda hurting almost like everyday. I noticed alot of people go out and smoke on the street and they always happen to be standing in the wind direction which was very annoying. I hate wearing a mask but I felt like I had to because of how bad the air was. Back to the hotel, I smell food inside my room around 8am everyday and I'm sure it came from the cafeteria downstairs although I've never been down there so I thought I was tripping. But I kept smelling it every morning so then I realized that I wasn't crazy yet. Again, I won't forget that day. The biggest rainstorm in hongkong. Thank you staff!
The staff were hospitable and efficient, they gave good advice as there was a typhoon around the time of my stay. The hotel is old and there were stains on the bedsheets and towels. For the price range and location, it is a good bargain.
Very reasonable price considering the central location, with abundant shopping and dining options, easy access to metro and other mass transportation. Air conditioner in the room was too loud, other than that it was a perfect stay.

A really good value in hotel in a very convenient area : close to lots of transport options. Not worth paying for breakfast as it’s poor value.
The room sometimes had a cigarette smell even though the hotel was a non smoking hotel. However, good location and nice staff. Old style room so would be nice if it was updated.

The hotel room did not keep in good shape. Most of the things in room are wear & tear. The color of door edge peel off , they don't care, the bathtub outlet are rusty or patinase. I pay full online via expedia but when check in they still need deposit of $89. Don't know why. And when check out i haven't got back the $$. I heard rumor saying this hotel will be changing the new owner soon. So everything they don't Keep in good shape and they don't do any touch up so it look old . Yes it would be good if any big company can take over the hotel, and give a new style or new look after renovation.
It was a lovely old timey hotel with great location to access food and culture on Hong Kong Island. The breakfast food is okay so I would recommend finding a local Cha Ceng Teng to really experience Cantonese food. The reception was super lovely and beds were very comfy.
It was a bit of trek to get to Kowloon so each day spent outside had to be excursion. Otherwise I think it’s a great hotel!
1. There are many rooms are divided by a locked wooden door. The problem is noise could be transmitted between the two rooms even after mid night.
2. I think there is a communication problem between wot-if and Rosedale hotel. I booked the hotel thru wot-if and paid the money. But I was told by the reception staff that I need to pay government tax which started on 1 Jan 2025. The tax cost me extra HK$226.50. I do not think it is fair to me because the tax law started on 1 Jan 2025 and I booked the room in June 2025. The money I paid should include the tax amount already. Just like you go to shopping and you got the quote the price and when you go to the cash counter but is told you have to pay extra for the tax.

The hotel barely qualifies as a 4-star property—there are countless issues to complain about. The slippers are paper-thin, offering no comfort. The air conditioning is not only noisy but also fails to provide enough cool air. The showerhead’s water pressure is as weak as a trickle. The bed is so short it feels designed for Snow White’s dwarfs, and the quilt is so small it only covers part of your body. When I asked for an adapter, I was told I had to purchase one. The corridor has virtually no air conditioning, making it uncomfortably warm. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Thankfully, I only stayed for one night. Try your best to avoid it. I was in Macau for a few days before coming to this place. Macau offered far better and more comfortable hotels.
Value for money, friendly concierge staff and check in staff, room is spacious

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of HK island near Victoria park. The rate is reasonable for the area, but the room is very small, the fridge is not cold enough and the bathroom needs upgrade. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
