"Beds need upgrading"
Overall experience was good, but bed mattress was old and squeaky. Door and lock could be improved but okay for an older hotel.

"Stay in Bilss for a great small town experience"
We are a family of 6 and stayed one night as a stopover. The Amber Inn is a simple motel with comfortable beds and very warm and friendly hosts. It does not do breakfast but with the cheap price of this motel treat yourself at the Oxbow Diner. Here you will get the service and warmth of a small town diner. Your cup will never be empty and breakfast and dinner was superb and also very reasonably priced. Also the people that we met in this town are the friendliest I have ever seen. So glad we stopped in Bliss. The name says it all.

Beautiful view from the back patio of the Safari room. The owners are very nice but the rooms could use a bit of TLC. We will stay there again.

"Clean, Well Maintained Hotel with Excellent Staff"
My husband and I stayed at the Mountain Home Inn while visiting family in the area. The hotel is very clean and well maintained and the front desk, breakfast room and cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and well-appointed with a small refrigerator, microwave, nice closet area and large flat screen TV. The bed had a firm mattress and good quality bed linens. The bathroom was also clean and had a nice walk-in shower. Breakfast was your typical hotel fare, but well presented, kept fully stocked and the room was always clean. The only reason I can't give the hotel five stars across the board is because the exterior doors and interior room doors closed very loudly and did create a bit of a disturbance, particularly at night. Other than that, a good deal for the price we paid. We would definitely stay there again.

"Throwback to the 70's"
The hotel is back in the 70's and it shows. The pool is in repair, and it looks like, it has been that way for a long time. There is no elevator, to second story. The only coffee and ice machine is in the office lobby. It appears it is rented out to weekly construction work crews for the most part. They were nice guys, however being the ONLY woman around it did make me stay a bit on guard. The deadbolt on the door was only able to lock with a lot of effort, and even then not that well. The mattress is probably original, goes from 5 inches to less than 2 when you sit on it. Needs much updating, painting, drywall & siding rot repair throughout. Front desk dude was nice, and overall it was ok.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
