This is a great boutique hotel right in the middle of Eyre Square. It is walkable to all kinds of shopping restaurants bars and the riverfront. Parking was a nightmare but it will be for any place in this area honestly. They did validate so it was about half price to park. The room and interior had kind of a Hollywood feel to it, which wasn’t bad but just a bit odd. Everything was clean and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The best part was the attached bar. It stayed open late and had a live musician until 10pm. Prices were also very reasonable. They also provide complimentary earplugs in the rooms but I didn’t need them. Highly recommended. Just mentally prepare for the parking and traffic challenge if you’re driving. Other than that a great choice!

Cute and quirky hotel

What a cute and quirky hotel! Service was great and bar downstairs was fun. We were warned of noise from the bar downstairs however didn't hear a thing! Hotel even had song lyrics on the ceilings of the rooms- very fun!

Great location for exploring Galway! 5 minute walk to the train station and the pick up for Galway Tours. Clean and comfortable room and reasonably quiet considering the bar downstairs.

Good for young people going out

A great hotel for young people partying in Galway, for families doing tours or exploring probably better to go somewhere else. The attached pub downstairs has music until 2am Thurs-Sat, 12am Sun-Wed. Staff is very friendly, but the description should make that clear so people know.

Loved our stay!

We loved it! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We felt immediately welcome. The room was basic but all we needed. Breakfasts were delicious and varied enough to have something different each day. The hotel provide earplugs because of the noise of the bar downstairs but we found the room quiet and slept easily. The proximity to nightlife and sightseeing made it a perfect walkable location.

The Skeffington Arms is a super cool property. The only drawbacks are that one end of the restaurant smelled a little bit like a bathroom, the heater in our room would not shut off so I finally had to turn off the power to it, and it's a bit noisy late at night when music is playing in the restaurant. But overall, it was great, and we will stay there again next time we are in Galway.

Best Location and better Customer Service!

The location can't be beat. It is literally on Eyre Square in the heart of Galway, right next to 10 Euro a day carpark and 2 minute walk from the Train station. The breakfast was huge and tasty. I will definitely return. The part that stood out was the customer service! From reception to the dining room to the cleaning staff everyone was so nice and went above and beyond the usual. They didn't just help. They took the time to chat and offer advice. It was so welcoming. WELL DONE TO ALL!

This hotel was first class. From the reception staff, bar staff and service staff they were so friendly and courteous, nothing was any trouble. Food was excellent and good portions. Room was very clean. Good location. Have absolutely no complaints about this hotel and a very central location. Would definitely recommend.
