Good location, small rooms

It's a very charming property. My bed was very comfortable, and I had a private hot tub on the patio with a view of Egg Lake! Breakfast was delicious and thoughtful. There are two adorable dogs on the property which made me very happy!

Clean room and great staff

This is a beautiful property, which makes it disappointing that the service left such a different impression. We arrived at 3:30 p.m., tired from a long day, and asked if we could check in before the posted 4:00 time. Nila at the front desk said the rooms had not been released by the cleaning crew. We waited outside in the cold, although our room appeared clean through its open front windows, and we saw no one enter it to finish cleaning. When 4:00 came and other guests arrived, Nila complained that everyone had shown up at once and said the rooms had “just been released.” After waiting for the appointed time, that was an odd welcome. The conversation about the property rules was just as uncomfortable. When Nila mentioned the no-smoking policy, I asked where we could enjoy a cigar. She responded by telling us that cigar smoke smells bad and nobody wants to smell it. She then said smoking was prohibited everywhere on the property because of a 25-foot rule around public buildings. I asked about the waterfront, which appeared to be about 50 feet away. Her answer was, “25 feet goes a long way out.” It did not help that our internet did not work and be beds were cheap and very uncomfortable. On our last morning, someone entered our room to begin cleaning at 9:15 while we were carrying bags to the car. Checkout wasn’t until 11:00. The property itself is worthy of five stars. I wish we had felt as welcome as the surroundings were inviting. The front desk can improve alot
