Maybe it’s just me, but many of the older hotels in older buildings smell like a sewer. Unfortunately our room our bathroom in particular smelled like a sewer. Beautiful property, high ceilings, helpful staff, but needs some upgrades, especially to the plumbing system.

The location is great since it is within the old citadel, but beware that you must park down in the town. And there is no air conditioning. Overall it was a nice stay, but I would not come again in the summer.

For its price it is a great stay if you like Japanese atmosphere, which I do. Hosts were great and helped up with laundry.
