When we arrived, hotel front desk man was actually quite rude. I speak good Spanish and it was clear he didn't want to be very helpful. He immediately thrust a tour notebook at us and we hadn't even checked in. After an 8 hour bus ride, booking a tour was the last thing on my mind. He asked us three times. I finally told him I didn't have the brain capacity to book a tour and would look the next day. The hotel was fine but the walls a bit thin and the tour groups leaving at 4 a.m. and rolling their suitcases on the tile floor was annoying. We could hear the conversations in the next room. Very clean, It would have been nice to have the sheets changed at least once in four days. I might look for another when I go back to San Cristobol in the future. When we left the girl at the desk was on her phone on a personal call and we had to tap her on the shoulder to get her attention. Desk staff needs some retraining.

We had a big room with two double beds. The furnace didn't work but it wasn't necessary anywaysince it was not cold. We could use the table and chairs in the terrace in front of the room.
The grounds are beautifully kept, the employees are very helpful. The hotel is a little far from the center of town (10 min taxi ride) but it's worth it to stay in this great place. The kids could play all over. The peacock is beautiful.

We chose this hotel because it was on the main road to the ruins and only a few miles away. We didn't expect it to be as nice as it was. What a great surprise! It served as an excellent base to visit Palenque twice and to serve as a jumping off place for an excursion to Bonampak. We'd go back again in a minute!

Property is large- rooms are a bit dated but clean- good a/c, hard beds. Hotel more a 2.5 than 3. Breakfast was good but mostly the same each day- but good variety. Restaurant menu fairly limited for lunch and dinner and quality not all that good. Large hardworking staff- but not particularly friendly. Wifi rarely worked anywhere in the hotel- front desk seemed tired of trying to reset the router.
