We had a big room with two double beds. The furnace didn't work but it wasn't necessary anywaysince it was not cold. We could use the table and chairs in the terrace in front of the room.
The grounds are beautifully kept, the employees are very helpful. The hotel is a little far from the center of town (10 min taxi ride) but it's worth it to stay in this great place. The kids could play all over. The peacock is beautiful.

We loved our stay at the Merriott Tuxtla. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was large with beautiful views overlooking the city. The beds were more than comfortable and the staff was excellent. The only issue we had was our toilet kept running and we had to toggle the handle to get it to stop every so often. Also, once the toilet overflowed, but the staff arrive immediately to fix it and clean up. The restaurant is expensive but beautiful. We only ate there once, but would highly recommend splurging for the breakfast buffet. It was amazing! The pool was beautiful and a cool oasis in the heat of Tuxtla. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Everything about this lovely hotel has been well designed and planned. The restaurant and lobby are lovely with soaring thatched roofs allowing gentle breezes. Menu is wide-ranging and delicious with a chef's professional touch. Staff is ultra attentive though not hovering. Lucia and Will are extremely knowledgeable and arranged tours, guides and transport that were flawless. And the best is owner Rafael who is indeed a Mayan scholar and happy to engage in discussions of all things Mayan. Stay here. It's a wonderful respite after a day in the jungle At Palenque.

Property is large- rooms are a bit dated but clean- good a/c, hard beds. Hotel more a 2.5 than 3. Breakfast was good but mostly the same each day- but good variety. Restaurant menu fairly limited for lunch and dinner and quality not all that good. Large hardworking staff- but not particularly friendly. Wifi rarely worked anywhere in the hotel- front desk seemed tired of trying to reset the router.

Comfortable and clean in a good location for accessing both the town of Palenque and the archaeological site. It's a good choice if you're driving as the parking area is secure. It's nothing out of the ordinary but was perfectly satisfactory and pretty good value.
