The staff was very courteous. Calvin, who checked me in was so nice and accommodating. Last year when I stayed here they had coffee available in the lobby, but not this time. Maybe they could provide more than two packages of condiments for the in room keurig. More than two washcloths and towels would have been nice. It took two phone calls to the front desk to obtain more. The pool has been “under construction “ for more than a year. The bed was very comfortable.

We booked a hotel for two reasons. Number one a swimming pool, number two and attached restaurant. When we arrived, the pool was closed for renovations, and the restaurant was out of business. Expedia did not notify us of either situation, and since the reservation was made through a third-party. Holiday Inn refused to refund any money. Although the Expedia rep made an effort to contact the hotel, the ultimate outcome was no refund. Buyer beware, call the property first before you book it. Either that or Expedia has to do a better job.

I give this hotel very mixed reviews. They would not allow me to check in early without paying a $25 additional fee although the hotel was completely empty and there were plenty of rooms clean and ready. This was not disclosed in advance, although I did contact the hotel online about early check-in and got no response. Second, when I made the reservation it indicated that breakfast is included. This hotel does not have breakfast available or included, but they did offer to sell me a box of cereal from their little market store. Third, the pool is closed for renovations. Fourth, the hotel has apparently changed hands from Holiday Inn to IHG. There was no announcement of this change of ownership as part of the reservation process. On the positive side, the room was large and clean with a coffee maker and microwave and small refrigerator. The bathroom was large with a good size shower. The service in the bar/restaurant was very good and the food was tasty and served quickly. The “nickel and dime” approach to early check-in left me with an overall bad impression and I will probably not be returning to this hotel. Tired travelers don’t appreciate being extorted for an extra $25 plus $100 credit card hold for incidentals upon check-in. This really tainted my experience.
