Good location for pedestrian access to the city centre. We chose to follow the canal footpath directly from the hotel - so easy! Comfy room and nice breakfast buffet.

The hotel was nice and in a great position, however coming home to a nightclub in the reception isn’t what we had planned for when coming back to the hotel after a long day. The music travelled through the walls and was loud even in the room. This partnered with the fire alarm waking us up early, wasn’t the the rest that we had hoped for.

Very poor customer service

Got informed by txt that car park had limited spaces, not as advertised. Then got a text saying car park closed in March, stay was September. Arrived to find no access to car park and no suitable parking to unload car and check in. Told by staff nearest car park was at the station. No staff volunteered to help with cases so had to cart they the 1/2 miles from the station up a difficult flight of stairs to cross a canal. Got to reception to find staff hunched over a phone giggling at something. No one helped. Staff seemed ill informed about building works and impact on parking. The place resembled a building site. Will not be back at this Marriott hotel! Experience spoiled our stay in Chester!

Private party in the hotel with deafening music until 11pm. Everything a bit grubby and uncared for. The car park was closed due to building work. Scaffolding up the side of the building. Staff friendly enough but feels more like a hostel than a hotel.

A fantastic 2 night stay. Bed and pillows were comfortable, however there were no drawers for underwear. Great menu selection so we had dinner in the hotel both nights which was really tasty. Bar area was spacious and had a good vibe even though it was through the week. Loads to choose from at buffet breakfast

All of the staff I spoke to were friendly and attentive, they helped me with queries and made the check in / check out process very easy. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was superb, well worth paying the extra for.
