Beautiful place!!!

The location was right on the lake with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit on the cooler evenings. The towels at the pool were so convenient. Our room did not have a microwave and the beds were not that comfortable. Overall, a very relaxing place to stay.

Staff and food were awesome

The stuff here is nice, but my stay in October 26 was far different than September 25. My room, 212, had tiles falling off the wall and sitting on the floor, the room was showing age, the bed wasn’t comfortable and I couldn’t control the temp in the room. I booked based on a fabulous staff the year before and this stay stunk. I informed the front desk and got an “I’m sorry”, but no follow up or anything.

They were painting & varnishing the doors of the rooms (including the interior bathroom doors) the day we arrived, which was a busy Saturday! The doors were all tacky & the fumes were strong. The room needed a deep clean, for sure & there were no outlets by the bed like most hotels have. Breakfast was not well laid out & the sausage patties were half dried out, like sausage jerky. The bedding was lumpy & the pillows smelled old & very used. Also, I understand that renovations need to be done, but how about on one area at a time, not on a weekend & don't rent out a room until the area is fully dry!?? The room across from us had the door taken off & the fumes coming from it were so strong, it gave me a headache & burned my nose. They had rags sitting under the bathroom sink & everything taken apart & of course, they were VARNISHING THE DOORS. It stayed like that the whole time were were there. I usually love a good hotel stay, even at the not so fancy ones because they're usually at least clean & not full of nasty fumes, but we couldn't wait to leave yesterday. I'll stay somewhere else when I'm in the area & with 2 daughter in college out there, Battle Creek is a nice central location between the two.

outdoor stairs were a fun adventure for us with a snow storm, but we made it. We really enjoyed the front porch and heater in there while resting and reading.
