Our stay at the Hotel RIU Palace Peninsula in Cancun, Mexico was truly exceptional. Everything exceeded our expectations—from the cleanliness of the rooms to the outstanding quality of the food. The staff was incredibly friendly, courteous, and always willing to help with a smile. We felt genuinely welcomed throughout our entire stay. This was our second time at this resort and it was almost as good as the first time. The food is decent, the employees are always really good. The beach was really nice! Perfect for a swim or snorkeling! I’m excited to see what it will be like following some much needed renovations. The property is a little dated and you can definitely tell in the rooms. The paint wasn’t in the greatest condition. One of our sinks was broken and the outlets were hit miss but we made it work.

My family and I stood in this hotel to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday. We were a group of 18 people in total that flew from the US, Argentina and Scotland. Our overall stay was good, however we did encounter a very unpleasant moment less than 10 minutes after checking in. One of our rooms was not ready so my husband, my son and I decided to go to my parents room to leave our suitcases and change to go eat. As my family and I was entering the room and bringing the suitcases in, the door shut because the balcony door was open and right away a security name Cesar knocked the door and started raising his voice at my husband. Cesar was accusing us of disturbing people on the other rooms, which was impossible since we just checked in, he was going to have us kicked out of the hotel and he had all of it recorded on videos of how we were behaving. It was very shocking and very disrespectful. As soon as this happened we went to report this incident and the manager apologized saying the security confused us with other people they were looking in the hotel. We were really upset, coming to celebrate a birthday for my mother’s 70th birthday, we had small kids and older adults with us and this had to happen was very embarrassing. Regardless of this incident we enjoyed the beach, the food was delicious and the other employees were very nice and polite. The hotel Is clean but a little outdated compared to others in Cancun.
