"A decent motel with a great view."
IMHO other reviews are too harsh. It's a motel, so people should set their expectations accordingly. My requirements: (1) clean, (2) spacious enough, (3) proper creature comforts like heat and a/c, and (4) a well-working WiFi is a nice-to-have. Redclyffe is satisfactory in these criteria. And it far exceeds in the "view" category. You can open the windows in the morning, and gaze at the water while sipping your morning coffee. Top notch hotels would kill for a view like this. Yes it is quite dated, and the floors are a bit uneven, but aside from being noticeable it wasn't a problem. And like other reviews said, the king size bed is quite firm, so if you're not into firm mattresses then you may have an issue. We slept quite well. Bed linens are perfectly clean, and blankets totally fine. Paint on main building's exterior is peeling, which is unattractive but to be expected given its direct exposure to storms rolling in from the ocean. They are currently working on replacing the siding. This place has interesting architectural details, so hopefully it will soon be restored to its former glory. The one disappointment was that the restaurant is currently closed due to lack of cooking staff, but we didn't come here to sit in the motel 24 hours a day. We came here to explore the beautiful (and I should emphasize BEAUTIFUL) northern Maine coast, so finding a place to eat isn't a big deal. Eastport is 20 minutes away, which is a visit that I highly recommend.

"Not living up to its potential"
This could be a magnificent experience but many little things detract from the overall experience. Our check in person looked like he had slept in his clothes. He was pleasant but poorly kept. The wait staff are all very young and pleasant but poorly trained and there is no experienced older person keeping an eye on things in the breakfast area or the dinning room. Our evening meal was excellent but the overly friendly attitude of someone trying too hard detracted from the experience. There were no newspapers. This is a serious oversight in a high end resort targeting people who have the means to pay their prices. I was given reasons why but they should find a way to get them delivered. It is a gorgeous town, a wonderful old building with many modern upgrades and much to offer. Better management would produce a better product.

Stayed overnight in beautiful St-Andrews New Brunswick at the Waterfront Garden Suites. The room patio overlooked the public pier and our view was beautiful as we watched the tides roll in and out, sail boats gliding in the bay and a picture perfect sunset over the water.

Calais is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Calais, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Calais hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
