Beautiful setting on Lake George. I chose The Chateau because I was going to a conference at Sagamore Resort. The Chateau is less expensive and a short 5 minute drive away. The room is lovely and the bed is very comfortable. The gas 'fireplace' was very cozy. I used the iron and ironing board. I appreciated the complimentary sparkling water. I wish the privacy blinds on the French doors were on the inside of the room because the balcony is shared with another room. (Another guest could potentially open the blinds and peer into this room.) The summer season was over in October during my stay. The staffing shortages meant I could not reach anybody by phone or website chat before my stay even though I left voicemail and my personal email. Everything worked out ok and I was able to 'check in' myself.

I can show pictures of the unit that was very different than described. I paid extra for a Mountain View for 3 nights - and it was not Mountain View. We were in a different building at the bottom of the hill a 8 min freeezing cold and icy walk to the pool area.

My husband and I went for weekend trip. Our stay couldn’t be more wonderful. The front desk was helpful. The rooms had toiletries and were clean. We didn’t expect a refrigerator in room, but was in room. Since off season, the garage parking was vey convenient and ample.

It is a wonderful place to stay at any time for coming foliage or ski. The location is excellent, quiet and very clean inside. We felt like at home, We will stay again when we visit woodstook area next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Golden Stage Inn! It was everything we hoped for and more for a lovely Vermont inn experience. The accommodations were inviting and charming and Julie, the proprietor, went the extra mile to ensure that our stay was comfortable. She also offered excellent suggestions for special places to visit on our day trips to nearby towns and historical sites. Coming back at the end of the day to warm apple cider and cookies was also a nice treat! We highly recommend and hope to return some day!

Breakfast was very nice and staff very friendly… unfortunately it is not very accessible if you have walking difficulties … all the bedrooms are on the second floor and there are no elevators… l wish l had known this before l had booked the room …. we stayed 1 night even though we had reserved 2 nights because of the difficulty of the stairs… It was however nice if no handicaps

Don’t ever rent at this place for the condo rentals they sent us to the wrong address, I could not get in contact with the so-called property manager for over an hour or more. We had no toilet paper, we had no hairdryer, no paper towels, we didn’t even know where the keys were or shampoo or soap. Basically this was an utter disaster. I tried to work it out with resort management and they offered certain things and I countered and I got at that point what I wanted, but it just continued to spiral downhill and then when I communicate further issues, I had to be on the phone with them, trying to explain to them what the problem was up until 11 PM at night, that night was in the 30s and they left the air conditioner on in the house didn’t warm up until after 1 AM. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a supposedly high-end resort. I’m telling you do not rent from their condo selection. It’s terrible. It’s expensive and it is just a waste of time.
