I love the location and the price so I'll stay here again. However, the shower handle broke off in my hand and didn't even work once I could get the handle back on. And when I told the front desk, they were completely apathetic about it and didn't offer any solution. I had to leave unshowered sadly. I have had plumbing issues before. THe bedrooms are very clean, but extremely basic, and note there are no exterior windows on the property. Windows only go to the interior of the hotel.

Rooms are clean but small. Ours had flaking material coming off the bathroom ceiling. You have to request daily housekeeping. There are hidden fees they call “destination“ charges which are normally charged by resorts. They are imposed here for the charged here to cover the included ’continental breakfast’ (consisting mainly of sliced white bread, bagels (no cream cheese!), standard cereals and grocery store pastries) and access to a well-appointed fitness room. Most hotels include these in their standard rate. Self-parking in an underground garage expensive ($45/day) and street parking is not available. While many of the staff are friendly and helpful, we we greeted upon arrival by surliness and indifference. No explanation of services or even directions to our room were given. Overall, the Arcadian gives the impression of a previous motel that was given an expensive makeover to make it appear high-end and the owners are trying to squeeze out every penny to cover their costs and optimize profits by shorting on quality.

This is the worst hotel in the whole world with very poor and ill mannered staff who basically do not have any solution for the issues they have caused to their guests, such as dysfunctional exhaust fan in the hotel bathrooms, constant earthquake, shaking noise from the rooftop in the room you booked for and paid $400 CAD per night. This whole must shut down, and the whole stuff should be fired immediately especially the people at the reception in the night who threaten their customers to throw them out of the hotel in the middle of the night when you ask them to fix these basic necessities.

My room was quite cool, around 69 degrees. I kept turning up the thermostat, with no results. Finally I called the handyman, who came, looked at the thermostat, and then told me he would go downstairs and turn the heat on. Then my room warmed up. But by the next morning, it was cold again. I had a "town house" room, which I think meant that it was a room without windows. Breakfast options were limited. For about $415 a night, I had expected something better.
