We stayed at Hotel Commonwealth for one night for an event in Boston. Everything about our stay was excellent. We used the valet parking which was convenient. We arrived early and were allowed to check in without any trouble. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a quick early dinner and drinks at the on site restaurant Row 34 and would recommend it without hesitation. The drinks, food and staff were all excellent. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with a small refrigerator and nicely equipped bathroom. The room could have been a little more modern but it was very clean and nice. I would definitely stay here again, based on the location, restaurant and especially the helpful staff.

I have stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth previously and considered it, as I do now, a pleasant place to stay. The location is great, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff, valet and front desk, were friendly and courteous with the exception of one. The morning of my reservation I called the hotel to ask about an early check in and spoke with a man, Jonathan, who was very rude. When I arrived, he waited on me at the front desk. When I told him my name all he said was “I believe we spoke this morning” -his tone was smug. He proceeded to check me in with barely a word and handed me my room key. He told me to enjoy my stay with one of those smiles that is anything but and gave me no information regarding the hotel. Having been there before I know they give each guest the a wealth of information and refillable water bottles, which he did not. I am happy to say the Hotel Commonwealth was redeemed the following day by a lovely man, at the front desk, named S. He was so courteous and kind and extremely apologetic for me and my family not feeling welcomed at check-in. Thank you S. There are hundreds of hotels to stay at in the Boston area and while I would like to stay at the Hotel Commonwealth I am not certain I will return there in the future. Most of us work very hard to afford a little time to do something special and the last thing we want is to feel disrespected when we do. It’s that old saying about one bad apple.

The staff was very pleasant always greeted us every time we came thru the lobby! We arrived at 1045am and they were able to not only let us check in but let us upgrade to a better room for a small fee which was very clean! The valet people always opened and held the door for us and anyone else coming and going and was very pleasant greeting people! Our stay was overall fantastic when we go to another concert in Boston we will definitely be staying there! Thank you everyone!
