Not Worth the Wait

We've been staying at the Beau Rivage for years, but this last few times haven't been the same, and this stay was not a pleasant experience. The line to check-in had 100+ people in it, and at times there was just one staff member assisting "non-priority" guests. All while 1-2 what I assume are managers sat behind them but did nothing to assist with flow. It took more than 30 minutes to check in, and it messed up our plans for the evening as we had a tight timeline after arrival. Then there's the overall decor. The property feels like we're still in the 90s, and while I did love the 90s, it's time for an update. Start with the carpet I beg of you. I also came back late from an external event and was surprised at how few options there were for food late at night. For a casino whose business relies on people staying up late at night to gamble, it just seems odd you wouldn't want them properly fed. I'll say the bed was comfortable, and the blackout curtains helped me sleep in, if I had to pick a silver lining. I also have a lot of nostalgia for "The Beau" ... but honestly this stay will likely be my last, at least for a while until they make some changes.

The main issue is their key card system. This place is not condusive to groups. You can't use your key card to go across the resort and visit other floors. If you want to go to your buddy's room, he had to come down 25 floors, meet you in the lobby, then take you back up. Huge inconvenience. Concierge staff was very rude, would not assist in any way. Only place I've ever been with this level of stupid. Definitely don't recommend and won't be back.

When we arrived the check in personal was not up to the friendly and courteous personal that I have encounter at other Marriott hotels. The room had a left over beer can in the shower, pretzels on floor by bed, and a peculiar odor on bedding. The cleaning ladies were excellent especially Christina who went out of her way to make our stay better in fact due to her professionalism I did not give our stay a poor rating

Refrigerator was very small. Water pressure was so strong in the shower. It took my breath away literally so that it was difficult to shave or breathe. Outdoor pool was a nice size but there was no way to walk out onto the beach from the property. Slots were so tight that we left and played at the Hard Rock. The building smells wonderful. I think they must pump in aromatherapy. Bed was nice and firm. Faucet in the sink was too short, forcing you to touch your hands to the sink when washing. That's a gross feeling.

Our stay was wonderful! Our room was spacious and clean. Our ONLY complaint (and this is no reflection on the hotel itself) was our room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. We requested a nonsmoking room. The room had a nonsmoking sign. It’s a shame people can’t honor the request. The housekeeping staff came and sprayed the room, which helped very little. It’s a shame an otherwise wonderful stay was made less enjoyable by the actions of other people.
