I was so happy to find this mini apartment with a room for myself and two separate twin beds for my adult kids who do not like to share. We finally got some rest. And while this hotel doesn’t have the latest modern decor or a fabulous fancy lobby it has everything we needed for comfort. It has wooden floors which we liked less bacteria. It has air conditionin. In the main bedroom it didn’t quite reach but there was a fan that did the job nicely. There was even fruit, water and coffee in the lobby. I truly loved staying her more than in other fancier hotels.

Beautiful location, very walkable, right in Banff. There’s an elevator in the hotel, which made moving our luggage easy. Good parking. We chose the kitchenette suite and I cannot stress enough how amazing it was - they had all the utensils you would need to cook full meals, which is exactly what we wanted. You can’t go wrong with the kitchenette suite. They have free coffee and tea downstairs. The view is gorgeous, and it was really quiet. Perfect location. We had such a relaxing time, and would definitely come back again. The only complaint I have is that the luggage cart they have is cheap and terrible, but we’re probably the only ones coming with inordinate amount of luggage. Also the front desk NEVER picks up, NEVER, no matter what time you call them.

This property needs a remodel, it’s old and looks it. Didn’t get the room we reserved and the “upgrade” to a king bed was deceiving, didn’t care for the room nor the spiral staircase. Very disappointed with this property, lowest point of a great vacation.

Its a small hotel conveniently located in the main street Banff Ave. Kitchenette Suite has two bedrooms and a functional kitchenette. Note that it charges a parking fee for a motel :-(

Our family has had a generally pleasant stay at Charlton. The staff is attentive and helpful. However as a motel-like accommodation that charges C$ 600 per night (which you should expect in the peak season in the popular small Banff town), there are a few points I have to say: 1. Both the interior and exterior need a serious refurbishment. 2. The sound proof in the room is even poorer than a real motel. 3. The charged onsite car parking for the guests is pointless. The inn locates outside the fee-parking zone of Banff. Nevertheless, I'm still appreciated I am able to find a place to stay in the peak season Banff town for my family vacation.
