"Good but some minor flaws"
Good hotel perfect location for aviemore, only niggles were room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke upon entry, shower hose was slack and let more water out from the base than it did the head, toilet flush controls were slack from the wall. not massive niggles BUT the smell of cigarette smoke was a disappointment in a no smoking room, left window open when we went for dinner and was ok after that.

"Nice hotel but a bit dated"
Enjoyed our stay. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The food in the conservatory was very good with a good choice but unfortunately the breakfast selection was not so good with no fresh fruit available on the buffet. The room was a bit dated with extremely creaky floorboards! Once we left the lift there were quite a few steps to negotiate before we got to our room.

"Nice old hotel"
Stayed here over a weekend to do some writing. It was very comfortable and friendly. The staff were well trained and unfailingly polite and friendly. My superior double was great for single occupancy with a nice view including hills and fledgling robins, and good bathroom with bath and shower. (The bath was v. small though - why do hotels do this? To save water is my guess...) The room was pretty quiet even when the hotel was very busy, except for the occasional slamming fire door. There was a good desk, plenty of power sockets in convenient places, and extra heating if needed with an additional radiator that could be boosted during the day. This old-fashioned method actually works a lot better than the 'dial it' air-con in more modern hotels. Down sides of this place (depends on your point of view) might be the rather old-fashioned style of the hotel, e.g. eccentric layout, patterned carpets and slightly faded paintwork on the doors and skirting. Food was OK rather than marvellous with a buffet breakfast - cooked to order is always better, but there was plenty to eat. Evening bar food was OK, swift service and great pudding.

"Lovely hotel - doggie friendly"
We arrived later in the evening and thought that we had missed food, but the staff were extremely accommodating and offered us the full menu - which was first rate. Fresh ingredients and well prepared. We ate in the bar area and our dog was made very welcome. Our room was very comfortable and clean and our dog was allowed to stay with us. Throughout our stay, the staff were very welcoming and chatty - we would definitely go back.

"Nice hotel close to village"
Spent a weekend here in April. Hotel is nice, big room which was clean and had what you need. Only downside to the room was the bed which was two singles zip locked together. Facilities were good although it would have been nice to have adults only area to the pool or a separate quiet pool. Breakfast was really good they cooked whatever you asked for. Staff all really pleasant and helpful and locals in village all really friendly. Overall a pleasant experience the resort is nice and aviemore is a great place to spend a few days.

"Lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere"
I stayed here for business at the Glenfiddich distillery about an hours drive north in Dufftown. I chose it mainly for access to a gym and didnt really spend much time around the hotel or the local area so can't comment on these. The gym was nice with a nice pool and spa tub as well as some free weights, treadmills and spin bikes. The room was luxurious and the food was different class!!!!

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Ballindalloch hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
