"Good base for an Auckland getaway"
My husband and I stayed for three nights here and were pleased. The hotel is in a great location downtown, with many good restaurants and attractions in walking distance. We appreciated the option to self-park in the hotel garage instead of using the valet service. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This boutique hotel is beautifully presented and the rooms are spotless . The staff are very friendly and you feel like a guest not a number as some of the bigger hotels can sometimes do. If I had one little niggle it would be that maybe complimentary bottled water is offered in the rooms at most hotels do nowadays, and the mini bar / snacks have a limited choice.

"Great location, looking tired"
Use this property a bit, but surprised how tired it was looking this time. In general a tidy, clean property in a convenient location for business with covered parking (charged), just noticing the bathrooms looking rough - mold, cracks, broken wood bits, chips and frame around tissue holder missing. Specifically the linen on the bed was awful. An OLD yellow mattress liner, too small for the bed, sheets really old, pilled, thin and threadbare. Was quite awful getting into bed, not what you expect. But easily remedied. No spare blanket in room and could not get the aircon to pump warm air. Strange place to keep hairdryer... last draw I looked in/ furthermost draw possible from the bathroom... But staff very pleasant and efficient, room service good.

"Great location."
Really good hotel in the city. Close to restaurants and bars. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrobes and slippers should be complimentary though, especially for guests staying 2 or more nights.

"Convenient location "
Lovely, kind and helpful staff. We didn't arrive from the airport till very late yet there were plenty of staff to assist us once we arrived. Again with breakfast which we'd paid for on both mornings we didn't arrive till 15 minutes till closing due to work that had to be done on our behalf. However the staff were open to us still taking our time with the continental buffet. location wise, i was expecting us to be further away from the main attractions on queen street but our location was perfect. The walk was not long at all and we were probably away from unnessvary noises as well. It was actually nice seeing Auckland university and Albert park on the stroll to cafes and restaurants. Now if you're coming here purely for business and working out is apart of ur general routine, I wouldn't recommend the gym provided. I used it on the first morning however there were little equipment and no pool to go for a swim after. they did however have a small sauna and spa.

"Go on, give us a smile :)"
Very comfortable, well appointed, small room with a great view in an excellent location in Auckland city. The service is no frills, but that's fine for the price. I found some of the staff a little on the surly side though - two were helpful enough, although poorly presented; a third was having a grumpy day. Depends on how much that matters to you, but it would have made the stay even better to be greeted and treated just a little more warmly.

"Nice surprise, great for family"
It's tough finding a hotel for a family to sleep in Auckland, look no further than Barclays. Although not a typical hotel, more of a managed apartment complex. The front desk is amazing, and the location great.

"Luxury near the harbour"
Check in was perfect and the room was excellent. Concierge staff went out of their way to assist and even though we had nominated self parking for the car, concierge offered each night (except one) to "make things a little easier" and park the car because of the difficulty in getting into the hotel parking due to road works around the hotel.

Auckland is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Auckland, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Auckland hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
