Ansted Vacation Packages

DO NOT BOOK AT THIS PLACE! I arrived at night in the pouring rain after a long day of driving. The office was locked, with a note on the door saying to call this number. When I called and asked to check in, I was told they had no rooms because of a “water problem”, despite the room already being booked and paid for in advance. I was left stranded with nowhere to stay, and the guy could not have cared less. I said, “You couldn’t have called people to give them a heads up so they could make other arrangements?!?” He shrugged it off, saying, “That would be something for the day shift to do. I’m the night shift.” I now see that this place has multiple listings on Expedia, and lots of other people have had my same experience. Expedia is “working on” getting me a refund, but they can’t get in touch with the proper representative at the property. (Shocker.) I made it clear to them that they need to remove this property from their page. Any positive reviews are clearly a sham. The employees at the gas station nearby said a bunch of homeless people stay at that hotel. Save yourself the headache I just went through and steer clear of these scammers.

The breakfast is poor American standard, it serve in plastic utensils- that is a big NONO for me, food wrapped in individual plastic- environment failure. I am not understanding why people are ok with this junk food option. Inside shower there was a container for conditioner but inside was a body wash. Pool was so shallow it was difficult to swim in it. The staff call you “darling” I love nature in WV , the falls are really pretty there, that accommodation of this hotel was poor.

I would stay again, staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were and we'll stocked. Only negative comment would the pillows were small.

Newly remodeled nice bed sitting area and great shower

Pretty old and tired converted motel. It appears as if they are working on updating some aspects of the property. The room had a funky sanitized smell that was likely being used to cover up some preexisting smells. Breakfast was basic. It was convenient to our visit to New River Gorge NP and was one of only a couple of options for housing in the area. On the plus side, the per night rate was very reasonable which made the hotel more tolerable.

Staff was great with clean rooms
