They charged resort fee’s separately from the up front billing, contrary to California law SB 478. I contacted Expedia, and Expedia contacted California Inn. Who claimed “City Hall” “instructed” them to charge these fees illegally. There are zero resort amenities at this hotel. I’m awaiting a response from the hotel to my resort fee refund request. Be aware of your rights!
In addition to that, the room had cleanliness issues. Baseboards were dirty, air conditioning was loud and rattling which competed with the loud traffic and voices outside. Blinds were broken and it just didn’t feel private. Hotel office had a strong offensive odor that nearly caused me to cancel before we checked in and walk away.
A friendly gentleman helped us get the Kureg coffee machine working though. Possibly the only positive I can figure.
