Isle Of Capri Waterloo Casino & Hotel

While the room was clean, I was disappointed to see a couple of holes our room's carpet. Also the walls looked a little beat up. I guess it's time for the operator to update the rooms.

"King room"
We had the cutest room. It was in a corner of the hotel so it was kind of unique. The only major problem was that the mattress was way too soft and possibly old. When you laid on it you automatically rolled to the middle of the bed. Could not get comfortable. The bathroom was barely big enough to turn around in.

Check in was quick and friendly, room was comfortable and clean. Americinn breakfast always appreciated. One thing to note is that the tub floor gets very slippery so be extra careful.

"Comfortable Hotel w/Decent Amenities but Isolated"
It's a fairly new hotel in developing area of Cedar Falls with easy access off Hwy20. Close enough to UNI (couple miles up the road to the Dome) but not near any bars, restaurants or even gas station / convenience store. It compensates by having a little snack and soda pantry. It is right across from some big event center / reception hall, so, if attending something there ... Clean and comfortable with decent amenities - nice pool area (didn't use); small exercise room with basic equipment (used every day); a couple public computers; laundry room and big breakfast area with plenty of tables / seating. Room was spacious, with sofa area, frig, microwave, coffee and very comfortable bed. Bonus - total control over thermostat and a constant fan! (Gotta have that white noise.) Only negative was night staff / staffing. Arrived late, after our event and took a few minutes for her to even come out of back office. No greeting at all; she made up the keys, handed them to us and asked if we needed a wake up call. Different lady, the next night, was much nicer. Had lost my key and she was understanding and replaced it with no hassle. The morning staff was also friendly but very understaffed. They take care of the breakfast prep, restocking and cleaning, plus guest needs / check-out, plus maintaining the exercise area (had to ask for towels and there are no disinfectant wipes), so, they're constantly away.

"Convenient hotel for downtown activities"
Hotel dated, much in need of upgrades and overall refreshing. Was bitterly disappointed when upon check-in, was told hotel pool & spa tub out of service indefinitely, and not likely to be re-opened by new Mgmt taking over the following week. In town for most of the week to clean old apartment for college sons and move them to new space. Was looking forward to a swim and soak in hot tub each night. STD King room spacious, nice amenities with good TV channel selection, mini-fridge, and microwave. Bath ok size. Room was kept clean. Entire hotel needs new finishes, but discounted price reflected age of property, so I was willing to settle. Breakfast offered was disappointing in selection and quality. Parking provided via validated ticket stamp in ramp across street, connected via enclosed sky bridge (but suffocatingly hot in the enclosure). Could use some maintenance in HVAC and ventilation there. Will likely stay there again, due to it being within 3 blocks of sons new dwelling when I visit from outside the state. Staff attentive.

Traer is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Traer, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Traer hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
