"Service are super good"
This is the first time I have come to Yangon Myanmar. the Staff helped me pick up a few hotels for my next few city to visit and airline tickets, especially when my mom she forgot to take the black rechargeable battery, they arranged the staff to go to the station to get the black rechargeable battery. I am touched and grateful from the Strand Yangon Hotel

"Central hotel able to cater to all your needs."
We upgraded to Horizon lounge which was money well spent, great breakfast and great happy hour from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Everything about the hotel is 5 star, everything of interest can be reached by either walking or frequent heap taxis. Our best hotel experience for a long while in a surprisingly friendly and interesting city.

"Nice hotel overlooking the lake."
Nice hotel, room was newly refurbished however bathroom wasn't. We had to keep asking for the complimentary water and room to be cleaned. During water festival spa service was limited but guests were not advised. Couldn't make reservation and staff were very rude!

"Nice city centre hotel"
From the minute we arrived until the minute we checked out 6 days later, ALL of the staff were excellent & couldn't do enough for you . I've said before it's the staff in middle/Far East hotels that define your stay there & the Park Royals staff were no exception. The rooms were spacious & comfortable. The air con very good. The bed & bedding were of a very good standard. The room & bath room had all the amenities you could want. Wifi was strong both in the room & hotel public areas. The hotel is about a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport & the taxi cost $10 U.S. The food in the hotel was of good quality & they accept both U.S. $ and the local Kyats. The hotel also accepted credit cards. The Park Royal is a decent hotel base from which to explore Yangon & I would stay there again. The only minor gripe I have is that I thought the price of a six night stay at the hotel was quite expensive ,but to be fair the other 4 & 5 star hotels in Yangon were expensive too. A mention must be made of Nay Myo Thein, the senior guest services manager, who sorted a problem I was having very quickly. Well done sir.

Belmond Governor's Residence - Yangon Hotels

Belmond Governor's Residence

35 Taw Win Road, Yangon - Map

"An oasis of serenity and elegance."
We stayed at the Governor's Residence on two different occasions, separated by a short trip to Bagan in the middle of our visit. The place really does deserve its reputation: the rooms are furnished with solid teak furniture and flooring, and the Governor's Room has a king-sized bed that is supremely comfortable, with soft pillows that I wanted to take home with me. The lighting in the rooms might be a bit soft, but it creates an incredibly romantic vibe. The best thing about the Governor's Residence are the staff — they are incredibly helpful and kind, without being the least bit overbearing. If you are used to staying in high-end posh hotels, do note that the approach to the Governor's Residence is understated. Although it's in an area with a lot of foreign embassies, you don't get any indication from the street, as the taxi drives in, of the quality of the hotel. That all changes the moment you step out of the taxi. When we arrived, our bags were whisked away by a porter without us having to ask. We were guided to a lovely teak sofa to sit on, and given cold jasmine-scented cloths to wipe our face and hands, along with some chilled citrus tea to drink. At this point, we realised we were someplace special. We loved our stay here, and wished we didn't have to leave.

"Pleasant stay"
hotel room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Myanmar plaza is just opposite the hotel. Wifi was very good, had good reception everywhere. Only down side is that the hotel staff at the reception desk wasn't too friendly but still responded to our needs. I guess the expectation from a 5 star hotel was not up to standard. It was an overall pleasant stay though.

and we had a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately there was some refurbishment going on upstairs which made it noisy during daytime. Best breakfast we had and nice cocktails.

Thanlyin is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Thanlyin, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Thanlyin hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
