Very pleased with my stay at Hotel Grand United. The room was clean, breakfast was one of the best I had in Myanmar and the staff was generally friendly and happy to accommodate my requests. Wi-fi was reliable and fast in comparison with other hotels.
The only con was the location, which is a bit faraway from most landmarks and sights in Yangon.

Nice hotel, room was newly refurbished however bathroom wasn't.
We had to keep asking for the complimentary water and room to be cleaned.
During water festival spa service was limited but guests were not advised. Couldn't make reservation and staff were very rude!

We stayed there on 2 separate nights. The staff are welcoming and very helpful, storing luggage, quick reception check in, welcome drink. We had a room looking straight up the canal to Mandalay Hill. Great swimming pool. Clean and comfortable rooms. The food at the restaurants is of good standard but not great. Will stay there again.

What an amazing and relaxing place to stay. Sanctum Inle only opened in May this year but I sense that it is going to be extremely popular in the future. Our stay here absolutely made our holiday in Myanmar and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to future guests.
The suites are very spacious, extremely well appointed and comfortable. Every aspect of a guest's stay has been considered and fulfilled to the highest quality; even the water in the bathroom is filtered.
The hotel facilities are equally excellent. We dined in the hotel restaurant a number of times and were impressed with the range on the menu and the quality of the food, much of which comes from the kitchen garden on site. The cocktail and wine list matches the menu and well worth trying. Breakfast is a la carte and includes all options one might want.
The staff are exceptionally professional and helpful. Nothing was too much of a hassle - including a request for an apple! There was a mix up with one of our laundry items (absolutely nothing that worried us), however the numerous apologies we received from a number of staff, managers and even the general manager himself were sincere.

The hotel was quite nice but once you get there you are pretty much stuck at the hotel as boat transportation is required to go anywhere. There is a water village not far from the hotel and we did a day tour visiting numerous locations throughout the village. All meals we had were at the hotel and they were quite nice. I would have gotten cabin fever if we stayed longer than the 1.5 days we did. During the day the electricity was off for a few hours while (I believe) the generator gas was being refilled. Of note, KinPo who works the front desk was amazing. She helped us with anything we needed and coordinated our day tour as well as our boat to return to the mainland about an hour away. I recommend this hotel for a short trip out on the lake.
