"Good Resort - great for skiing"
We had five wonderful days staying at the North Tower of the Rusutsu Resort. Skiing was available for all, from beginners to advanced, with ample ski slopes and great snow. We were blessed with great weather for all five days - clear sunny days and light snow at night. The equipment rental and ski school are within the resort, with a good number of great instructors. Adequate number of restaurants and eateries. Loved the ice cream and the local delicacies. The service is great throughout, making our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. There was little need to leave the resort for anything and we didn't.

"A True Resort Experience"
Using Hokkaido Resort Bus Liner is easy and stressless and the most practical way to get to Rusutsu. At the Westin doormen meet you at the door and handle baggage, complimentary. After checking in, your room will be two stories tall (all the rooms are this way at the Westin). Doormen bring bags to your room and you can settle in and relax with a large bedroom and downstairs bar/kitchen/living room. If that isn't enough, regardless, GO TO THE SPA. The onsen is awesome and I think is the cherry on top. The Westin does have snowboard and ski rentals as well as snowboard/ski clothing shops. Try to get breakfast included with booking the room. Breakfast is about $25 USD per adult, however it is a buffet and higher quality food with the easy ski in/out experience. This is at the Westin Atrium. Across the street via tram or walking is the lodge and food gallery. Now for what's really important: snowboarding- the resort is huge. You can easily spend 3 whole days snowboarding and still not see every single inch. The snow is good, but best fresh and it typically snows at least once when you stay. Welcome to Hokkaido! There are many food options on the slopes at a few of the lift bases. The Westin is easy to get back to either from a pair lift from one mountain or if on the other mountain you can take the tram. I think if you are looking for a great place to snowboard and looking for a resort feel but freedom, then the Westin is a must stay. Every yenny is worth it.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
