Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel - Carrabassett Valley Hotels
Rating: 3.5 Stars

Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel

5092 Access Road, Carrabassett Valley - Map

"Nice hotel, at the base of the mountain."
I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and overall had a very nice time. We were there to ski so we were not in the room a lot. I was on the top floor and the room shape was a little awkward and you had to be careful not to hit your head on the angled roof. The hot tub was not working, but the hotel staff were trying to fix it. The room was very clean and it was nice to have a mini fridge and a toaster. We did have a hard time setting the fridge temperature so it wouldn't freeze our food and waters. The thermostat was also temperamental and would either blast hot air until it was hotter than what we set it at, or it would blast cold air until it was freezing in the room. I will say the room was very clean, and if they made some slight adjustments our stay would have been better.

Herbert Grand Hotel - Kingfield Hotels
Rating: 2.5 Stars

Herbert Grand Hotel

246 Main Street (Route 27), Kingfield - Map

"History revisited"
I used to live in the Kingfield area and have witnessed the ups and downs of the Herbert Grand Hotel as it has changed hands over the years. I booked rooms there for my visit last week. Dawn was wonderful, friendly and accommodating. She helped relocate us to better rooms than we had booked on line due to availability. Visitors should not loose site of the fact that this hotel was built in 1918 and was and is the heart of downtown Kingfield, ME. Over the years, the grandeur of the lobby with it's fumed woodwork, the portico on the second floor overlooking town, and the quaintness of the rooms that still have transom windows over the doors and antique dressers, all maintain the original integrity of the Herbert Grand Hotel. All of the rooms have been renovated and have new clean bathroom fixtures. The rooms are freshly painted and decorated with Art Deco posters. Although the dining room only functions for special occasions, fresh coffee is provided for the guests and adult beverages are available for relaxing around the lobby and the upstairs porch. I would highly recommend The Herbert for anyone wanting to step back in time on a budget! Conveniently located within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, convenience stores, the Carrabassett River, art galleries and more.

The Perennial Inn

141 Jed Martin Road, Rumford - Map

"Quaint B&B in picturesque Western Maine"
The Perennial Inn sits on what was once one of the most prominent farms in the small rural town of Rumford, Maine. Rumford is best known for its huge paper mill; however, there is a whole other part of this town, far from the mill, that is beautiful and peaceful, and that is where you will find the Inn. The breakfasts were incredibly - bacon from locally raised pigs, frittata, and delicious baked goods. The Inn is located within easy driving distance of both the Sunday River Ski resort and of Grafton Notch State Park, just overt the border in New Hampshire. Lots of fun outdoor activities are nearby, as will as the town of Bethel, which has many fine restaurants and pubs. Well worth the trip!

Rangeley is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Rangeley, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Rangeley hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
